The access channel is configured to facilitate withdrawal of fluid from the vial when the adaptor is coupled to the vial. The regulator channel is configured to facilitate a flow of a regulating fluid from the regulator assembly to compensate for changes in volume of a medical fluid in the vial. In some embodiments, the regulator assembly includes a flexible member configured to expand and contract in accordance with changes in the volume of the medical fluid in the vial. In some embodiments, the flexible member is substantially free to expand and contract. In some embodiments, the flexible member is not partly or completely located in a rigid enclosure.

This device further comprises two assemblies each at least one tube element in the form of a planar spiral, the number of spiral tube elements of one of said assemblies being equal to the number of spiral tube elements of the other assembly, each one of said spiral tube elements being arranged centrically about the respective axes of two orthogonally disposed cross-pins of said universal coupling element. Each spiral tube element has an inner end connected to the orifice of a conduit provided in the associated cross-pin, any two of the conduits provided in said cross-pins being connected to each other by a respective conduit integral with said core. An articulated branch assembly comprising pipe member and appropriately arranged combinations of fluid carrying swivels, ball joints, or rubber hose is fixed to the outboard end of a conventional marine cargo loading arm. The branch assembly is used for bunkering vessels while the arm is supported off the cargo manifold adjacent to the bunker manifold. Fitting marine cargo arms with the bunkering assembly and supporting the arm off the cargo manifold permits, for a large percentage of vessels, simultaneous bunkering and cargo transfer through the other cargo arms in the bank. The branch assembly also: eliminates in many cases the need for a separate bunker arm(s), avoids overstressing of the smaller, weaker bunker manifolds, and makes the bunker manifolds more accessible without resorting to long lengths of hose or auxiliary bunkering saddles.

The articulated riser of the present invention may extend to a foundation structure situated on the subsea bottom or to an upright self-standing riser, providing a manifold for a plurality of fluid-handling lines to be connected to a floating vessel. Means may be provided for either partially or substantially totally providing buoyancy for the articulated riser.

The retaining arrangement includes an annular arrangement surrounding the circular heart valve and engaging it so as to be radially expandable and contractable relative thereto while securely holding the heart valve in place. The annular arrangement may include a single overlapping loop or a plurality of arcuate segments, all of which could slidingly engage a circumferentially extending flange on the outside of the heart valve. The heart valve includes a plurality of circular elements interfitting in a single plane to close the valve and extending axially relative to each other to open the valve and hence permit fluid flow through the passageway.
