摘要： Tool rack for tools of a coordinate measuring machine, wherein the guiding and retaining surfaces of the tool rack are arranged on two planes offset vertically so as to cause the tool to tilt when it is unhooked. The inventive arrangement allows the mechanical efforts during uncoupling to be reduced appreciably. This reduction is due to the tool tilting and to the residual magnetic force being divided between three retaining point, with a positive effect on the coupling precision and on the tool positioning in the tool rack.

摘要： The emboss module of the present invention provides for automatic die and bolster conversion. The emboss module includes a frame, a die changer sub-assembly and a bolster sub-assembly. The die changer sub-assembly includes rotatable die changers for automatically registering dies therein, and the bolster sub-assembly includes counters and panels for receiving the sheet of material and the die. Both the die changer and bolster sub-assemblies are adapted for use with emboss and foil dies and counters. Accordingly, a more efficient and scalable emboss system and method for automatically changing dies and bolsters is described herein.

摘要： A manually operated apparatus for removal and insertion of a tool holder to and from a tool pocket of a magazine includes two components--a multi-function insertion/removal tool, and a pivot bracket. The multi-function tool generally comprises an elongated bar having a tool holder removal element at one end and an insertion element at the opposite end. The removal element can constitute a known pry tool having a fork portion configured to facilitate insertion between the rim of the tool pocket and the underside of the circumferential flange of the tool holder. The insertion element of the multi-function insertion/removal tool comprises a pivot block and a pressure plate. The pivot block includes a pivot pin projecting therefrom that is configured for pivoting engagement within a channel defined in the pivot bracket. The pivot bracket is mounted to the housing of the tool magazine at a manually accessible location relative to the tool pockets with the open end of the channel facing away from the tool pocket. When the pivot pin of the insertion/removal tool is disposed within the channel of the pivot bracket, the pressure plate is situated over a portion of the circumferential flange of the tool holder when the holder is loosely disposed within the tool pocket. The elongated bar of the tool can be used as a lever arm to pivot the tool about the fulcrum point defined by the pivot pin and pivot bracket. As the elongated bar is manipulated, the pressure plate is pivoted downward, bearing against the circumferential flange of the tool holder with sufficient force to overcome the pocket spring force operating against the knob of the tool holder.

The magazine has a plurality of sector-shaped tool holders, in each of which one tool is stored. Tools are individually loaded or unloaded at a corresponding orientation of the magazine, at which a selected sector-shaped tool holder is in axial alignment with the machine spindle. When in such alignment, the sector-shaped tool holder is moved axially into cooperative relationship with the spindle and tool transfer is effected. Means are provided to lock each of the sector-shaped tool holders into an inactive axial storage position, except when selected.

摘要： An automatic tool changer for use on a machine tool which moves tools in combinations of rectilinear movements between a spindle at a machine head and a rectangular array of compartments, parallel to the spindle axis, at a storage magazine. The storage magazine is mounted on the support of the machine tool to move in unison with the machine head, and includes a plurality of drawers which move at right angles to a pair of tool forks for transferring tools to and from the forks. The forks are independently linearly movable on a carriage which moves between the storage magazine and the machine head. One tool fork carries tools exclusively from the magazine to the spindle, and the other tool fork carries tools exclusively from the spindle to the magazine. The entire tool changer is movable relative to the machine head to insert tools into and withdraw tools from the spindle.
