    摘要: An elongation control system for controlling the elongation of a work to be rolled by a rolling mill applied to a continuous thin plate rolling equipment, through control of the rolling load of a press down device in the mill and control of tension on the work, i.e., control of the rates of feed of the work by feeders. The press-down device for pressing down a work roll is controlled based on the difference between the actual elongation detected by an elongation detector and a preset reference elongation. The rolling load at the moment the actual elongation accords with the reference elongation is held by a rolling load holding circuit, and the difference between the actual press-down position of the press down device corresponding to that press-down load and a target press-down position is outputted as rate correction signal to feed rate controllers for controlling the feed rates on the basis of the respective tensions on the work on the entrance side and the exit side of the rolling mill, whereby the feed rates are controlled and, therefore, the tensions on the work are controlled.

    摘要: At an installation comprising a roll stand having at least one roll of the variable camber type, comprising a fixed support and a casing carried by at least three jacks and rotationally movable about the support, the pressure of the fluid in each of the jacks (14), the position of the pistons of these jacks, the speed of rotation of the roll, and the flatness and thickness of the flat product are measured. The position of one of the jacks (14b) is controlled by the thickness measurement. The pressure in the other jacks (14a, 14c, 14d, 14e) is controlled by the pressure in the one jack (14b). The positions of the end jacks (14a and 14e) are compared and the pressure in the jacks (14) is modified in order to bring the tilt of the roll to a suitable value. The deformation of the fixed support is calculated and the shape of the generatrix of contact of the roll is determined. The pressure in the jacks (14) is modified in order to bring the generatrix to a reference shape. The invention is particularly applicable to four-high rolling mills having variable camber supporting rolls.

    摘要: A programmed computer control system provides on line predictive roll force gauge control and screwdown offset gauge control for a tandem hot steel strip mill. A gauge control program calculates corrective screwdown movement including that predictively required at each gauge controlled stand for optimum or near optimum gain correction of roll force error on the basis of on line detected roll force and screwdown position values at that stand and on the basis of a mill spring constant which is predetermined for that stand and a determined workpiece plasticity value for that stand. The workpiece plasticity values in determining the screwdown control action at each stand are adaptively modified during the workpiece rolling period on the basis of in process measurements of roll force and screwdown position at that stand. The control system operates the mill screwdowns in accordance with the program calculations made from the updated plasticity values.
