Disclosed herein is an apparatus for cleaning a lubricant for dry-type wire drawing. The apparatus comprises a case provided with a cover and piercing holes at opposite sides of the case such that a steel wire can pass through the case, a plurality of driving motors provided at one side of the exterior of the case, rotating members located at an inside of the case and connected to the driving motors, respectively, by belts serving to rotate them, support plates for supporting the rotating members, and cleaning members coupled to the rotating member and adapted to provide a path through which the steel wire passes. The dry lubricant on the surface of the steel wire can be effectively cleaned by friction between the lubricant on the steel wire and the cleaning members.

A plurality of spray bars are located between the entry end and the delivery end and delivers a washing solution to the plurality of can bodies. A substantially constant can body population density is maintained on the can body transporter by controlling a speed of the can body transporter relative to a rate of production of can bodies produced by an upstream can body making apparatus. A time duration of an exposure of the plurality of can bodies to the solution is controlled by regulating delivery of the solution.

The steel sheet includes a multilayer coating including at least one zinc-based layer being 0.1% to 20% magnesium by weight which is covered by a fine temporary protective layer of 5 to 100 nm. The fine temporary protective layer is composed of metal or metal oxide selected from the group consisting of aluminum, chromium, aluminum oxides AlOx, with x being strictly between 0.01 and 1.5 and chromium oxides CrOy, with y being strictly between 0.01 and 1.5. The at least one zinc-based layer is not alloyed with the temporary protective layer. Manufacturing methods for a sheet and part are also provided.

A continuous in-drawing line process and system for drawing stainless steel wire is provided wherein wire is (1) brushed in an inlet brush station to remove oxide film from the wire surface; (2) coated with a lubricant carrier coating which is dried then subsequently cooled; (3) drawn through a drawing machine using a lubricant; and (4) brushed to remove residual carrier compounds from the surface of the drawn wire. The system for carrying out this process includes a wire payoff; an inlet brush station having two pairs of brushes that rotate in a direction opposite to that of the wire to remove oxide film therefrom; a coating device; a dryer; a cooler; a drawing machine; first and second outlet brush stations each having two pairs of brushes that rotate in a direction opposite to that of the wire to remove residual drawing compounds therefrom; and a wire take-up device.

An apparatus for continuously removing fine scale dust comprising oxides of iron, such as FeO, Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, and Fe.sub.3 O.sub.4 from mechanically descaled hot-rolled or heat-treated steel strand as preparation for wire drawing.Generally hot-rolled or heat-treated steel wire strand must be descaled prior to cold drawing into wire products. When mechanically descaled, as by reverse bending, large pieces of brittle scale separate readily from the steel surface but smaller dust-like particles remain attached to the surface as by electromagnetic or electrostatic forces. These small particles must be removed prior to cold drawing into wire; otherwise, drawing die life is seriously reduced by the abrasive nature of the fine scale dust particles.The invention herein comprises an apparatus for the continuous removal of iron oxide scale dust from mechanically descaled steel strand. The invented apparatus is intended for use in tandem with mechanical descaling equipment. Both pieces of equipment operate continuously and in-line with the wire drawing equipment in preparing the steel strand for processing into wire.The invention herein is designed to remove fine scale dust from mechanically descaled strands using compressed air only. The compressed air is made to form equal, opposing high velocity jets that perform the cleaning. The design also causes containment of the removed scale dust and prevents escape to the atmosphere.
