摘要: A machine for the electrochemical marking treatment of metallic surfaces, includes an electrode placed in sliding movement on the metallic surface to be treated, a buffer impregnated with etching solution for the specific metal in treatment, and an electric current circuit, suitable for electro-marking treatment of said metal, with a conductor connected to the electrode and the other conductor connected to the metallic surface in treatment; and presents to treat large metallic surfaces on plates, metal canvas or on metallic sheet in coil. The plate, canvas or the metallic sheet is placed in a electro-marking mechanism in a reciprocally movable way with respect to the electrode, in such a way to allow the electrode the electrochemical marking action on the surface to be treated even if the electrode is of limited size with respect to said surface, the electrode being movable in the and/or with the electro-marking mechanism, the buffer being impregnated with the etching solution at regular intervals, and the relative motion of the electrode on the surface being the combination of two longitudinal and transverse relative motions.

摘要: An electric discharge machine is intended to effect a finishing surface on the circumferential surface of a cylindrical workpiece such that the finishing surface is parallel to the circumferential surface of the cylindrical workpiece. The machine is composed of a platform base, a work platform, a main shaft seat, and a workpiece holding device. The work platform is slidably mounted on the platform base such that the work platform slides horizontally in relation to the platform base. The main shaft seat is slidably mounted on the platform base such that the main shaft seat slides along the direction of a normal line of the work platform, and that the main shaft seat is fastened at one end thereof with a discharge finishing electrode facing the work platform. The workpiece holding device is mounted on the work platform for holding the cylindrical workpiece. When the work platform is driven to slide horizontally in relation to the platform base, the cylindrical workpiece is rotated. As the cylindrical workpiece is moved to pass the projection of the electrode on the work platform, the circumferential surface of the cylindrical workpiece is spread out to form a planar surface relative to the electrode, so as to facilitate the finishing of the circumferential surface of the cylindrical workpiece by the discharge finishing electrode.

摘要: A tool is disclosed that is lockably attachable to the vertical driver of an electrical discharge machining apparatus. The tool includes a shaft having an insertion end and an electrode receptacle end. The shaft is lockably attachable to the chuck of the vertical driver. The electrode-receiving receptacle an electrode-receiving slot defined by a pair of spaced apart fixed walls, a floor, and a pair of spaced apart movable walls that function as vices to hold the electrodes in place within the receptacle. The floor of the receptacle may be planar and perpendicular with respect to the fixed and movable walls or may have a blank positioned thereon that defines an angular surface, a curved surface, or an irregular surface that conforms to the surface of the workpiece. The electrodes have indicia such as letters, numbers, or characters formed thereon. The tool finds particular application in etching printing plates.

摘要: The invention relates to marking of industrial products or individual parts thereof by burnt-in alphanumeric symbols and/or company symbols. To be able to apply in a space-saving and cost effective way a machine-readable, informationally identical additional coding, this additional coding is applied, integrated in the symbol, in such a way that distinctly deeper burnt-in locations, which are in themselves machine-detectable, are arranged along the trace of each and every symbol at several predetermined places distributed in a manner individual to the symbol. The deeper burnt-in locations may take the form of a blind hole, for example in the case of cast workpieces, or of a through-hole, for example in the case of sheet metal components. The additional coding can be applied in the same operation as the basic marking without noticeable time loss and without requiring additional space.

摘要: In one embodiment of a method for etching a bar code on a metal surface, a carrier web having elongated openings is prepared. These openings correspond in size and position to the dark bars of the bar code. The carrier web is adhesively attached to the metal surface so that fluid cannot seep between the web and the surface. The metal surface is then electrochemically etched through the openings in the web. In another embodiment, a conveyor belt moves supports for metal objects past a printer assembly which includes melted-resin printheads. These melted-resin printheads are similar to ink drop printers except molten droplets of resin are expelled rather than droplets of ink. The resin droplets harden upon contact with the metal to provide a resist pattern. A rectangular opening in a mask is positioned over the resist pattern, and etching is conducted through the opening and resist pattern. The etching employed is preferably electro-chemical etching.
