摘要: A method of manufacturing gypsum board includes applying compressed air to an input end of a tube, wherein the tube includes the input end, an output end, and a venturi located between the input end and the output end; admitting a foaming agent to the input end of the tube so as to form a mixture of the compressed air and the diluted foaming agent; passing the mixture through the venturi and out the output end; combining the mixture with gypsum and water to form a gypsum slurry; and casting the gypsum slurry onto a continuous web for forming a gypsum board.

摘要: Molten polymers are forced into T dies combined to form a multiple T die, the molten polymers are extruded through the T dies in monolayer. The monolayers extruded through the T dies are superposed and laminated outside the multiple T die while the polymers are in a molten or semi-molten state to form a intermediate molten multilayer. The multiple T die is advanced into a space between an open top half mold and a bottom half mold of a compression mold to deliver the intermediate multilayer onto the bottom half mold. The intermediate multilayer is cut to a predetermined length on the bottom half mold, and is processed for compression molding in the compression mold to form a multilayer article. A molding cycle for molding the multilayer article is carried out automatically at a remarkably improved manufacturing efficiency.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for eliminating or reducing a surface skin when producing a flexible polyurethane foam slab are disclosed. The top surface of the chemically reactive polyurethane foaming mixture is heated during and/or after the foaming mixture expands. The heating preferably is conducted so as to prevent a significant temperature gradient from forming between the internal temperature of the foaming mixture and the top surface of that mixture. Preferably, heat is applied so as to heat from the top surface of the foaming mixture in an escalating fashion to higher temperatures as the foam is conveyed along a conveying path away from the foaming mixture dispensing device.

摘要: Structural members for doors and the like can be manufactured from plastic foamed composites containing wood flour by the steps of (1) dry mixing a blend of powders including PVC powder, wood flour, powdered thermal stabilizers, powdered foaming agent and a powdered gelatinization agent, (2) adding the mixed powder to a thermal stirring mixer to obtain a homogeneous dispersion of the several powders (3) transferring the homogeneous dispersion of powders to a cold stirring mixer and stirring at speeds sufficient to avoid agglomeration of the homogeneous dispersion of the several powders and (4) placing the non-agglomerated homogeneous dispersion of the several powders in a feeding hopper of an extrusion machine and extruding shapes for the desired components. The vacuum venting of the extrusion machine can be controlled to achieve components with more desirable surface features. Lubricants can be added to the homogeneous dispersions of the several powders to aid in the extrusion process.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for forming an article comprising closed-cell microfoam from thermoplastic, wherein at least one molten thermoplastic comprising a foaming agent is subjected under pressure to a forming operation and, after the pressure has been at least partially released is cooled, wherein the amount of foaming agent is substantially identical to the amount corresponding to that quantity of gas released by the foaming agent which is comprised by a close-packed structure of the foam cells having a specific foam-cell diameter, substantially uniform throughout the foam, at the pressure prevailing during cool-down. The use of a nucleating agent is beneficial, and in the method according to the invention the concentration thereof proves to be a determining factor for the mean foam-cell diameter.

摘要: Plant (1) for manufacturing a latex foam layer of unlimited length and having lower (9) and upper (10) recesses. A plurality of laying planes (15) provided with lower protuberances proceeds between an injection station (3) and a layer removing station (5). Foam provided with lower recesses (9) is directed towards a vulcanizer staying between the injecting station (3) and the removing station. A plurality of upper plates (31), each of them provided with protuberances (33), is lowered, one by one, on the foam layer to impress upper recesses before the foam layer enters the vulcanizer. The plates (31), placed on the foam layer, have their ends shaped in such a way to avoid completely any penetration of steam condensation drops. Upper plates release their weight to fixed supports (17, 18) of the planes (15) to which they are bound until they leave the vulcanizer. The coming back of the plates from the extraction station (35) towards the new cycle of moulding (34) is independent of the operating system (19) of the planes (15).

摘要: An annular die designed to produce polymer foam using only one or more ambient gasses as a blowing agent includes an exiting channel with an exit having a cross-sectional area between about two and about ten times that of a smallest point within the exit channel. The section of the die from the smallest point to the exit is thermally isolated from the rest of the die, and the temperature thereof is independently controlled. In addition, the interior surface of the exit channel is coated with a friction-reducing coating.
