    摘要： A corner post made of corrugated paperboard is enclosed in a film of plastic or the like and sealed on all sides to protect the corner post from contact with water vapor and thereby retain a high percentage of its dry strength when exposed to high humidity conditions. The plastic film may be selected from the classes consisting of polyethylenes, polyvinyl chlorides or other plastic materials, and the post may be sealed in the plastic enclosure with the aid of a heat shrinking operation, a skin packaging operation, a gluing operation or any combination of the above.

    摘要： A spherical body having a core and a surface layer is manufactured by a method comprising a preforming step in which a pair of sheet blanks (1) are formed into half-shells (11) in a two-part mold (2) having hemispherical concave mold halves by pressing each blank from one side while applying vacuum suction to the other side; a surface layer forming step in which the half-shells are loaded into another two-part mold (12) having pattern-forming projections, the core (19) is placed on one mold half, and the other mold half is joined thereto to close the mold, thereby pressing the core against the inner side of each half-shell, concurrent with which vacuum suction is applied to the outer side; and a molding step in which the surface layer is fused and solidified onto the core within the closed mold.

    摘要： The disclosure relates to an assembly and packaging system for fabrication of integrated circuits and the like wherein a continuous strip of a polymer film having integrated circuits thereon has leads attached thereto and is then fed between a pair of strips of epoxy encapsulating material. The encapsulating material is an extruded partially cured epoxy which is quickly cooled when leaving the extruder and then heated and substantially fully cured while being positioned on each side of the polymer film strip. The layers of epoxy are then sealed together and substantially cured around the integrated circuits by means of a pair of heated rollers to encapsulate the circuit on-line in a continuous operation.

    摘要： A method of assembling a collapsible reusable container for shipping, storage or the like comprised of separate defining side, end and top and bottom panels, comprising utilizing an inverted three sided pyramidal shaped trough fixture and assembling the side, end and bottom panels in the support trough, with the bottom panel facing generally upwardly, applying pressure sensitive tape sections or strips to the bottom panel adjacent opposite corner portions thereof, and in manner whereby the strips extent diagonally across the respective side and end panels and into wrap-around relation with the respective opposite side and end end panels to secure the panels together, and then rotating the assembled panels 90 degrees in the fixture to provide positioning of the container for application of the strips or the tape sections to the bottom panel adjacent the other corner portions thereof, whereby the panels are strongly secured together. The assembled container is then placed upright, ready to receive stock material therein. The cover or top panel can then be applied to the filled container and secured to the remainder of the container by tape sections applied adjacent the corners of the top panel and extending diagonally into adhering engagement with the adjacent side and end panels.

A ring is then pressed against one end of the formed tube to slide it axially off of the bristles and mandrel.

    摘要： A mold for use on machines for applying thermoplastic box toes to shoe uppers has a first part horizontally reciprocable to move the mold from a thermoplastic material supply station to a box toe applying station and conversely, and a second part mounted on the first part and carrying on the lower side thereof a male element provided with a downwardly open recess to receive the box toe and with a chamber above said recess to receive the cooling liquid. The first part consists in a plate provided beneath the male element of the second part with a window larger in size than the male element. The latter is clamped to the second part and is removable from the bottom through the window in the first part. The female consists in a plate provided with an opening therein and is adapted to be removed horizontally from the first part to clear the window.
