摘要： An image is recorded on an elongate image recording medium by feeding the image recording medium in an auxiliary scanning direction from a loading unit and applying a light beam to the image recording medium in a main scanning direction transverse to the auxiliary scanning direction. A loose loop is formed out of the image recording medium between the loading unit and an image scanning recording unit. Guide plates are angularly displaced to allow the image recording medium to hang by gravity with the image recording medium with the image recorded thereon having a free distal end. The hanging image recording medium is moved back toward the image scanning recording unit after the image has been recorded. The guide plates are displaced back to deliver the image recording medium to a next process.

The vacuum belt proceeds over the first roller and the at least two metering rolls meter the second-piece material thereon, the vacuum belt proceeds through a valley between the first roller and second roller, at a predetermined time, the nip roller continues to pull the vacuum belt and the metering rolls pull back slightly and pulling the second-piece material taught and causing the second-piece material to contact the cutting device, and thus cutting the second-piece material.

When the recording medium P is discharged, the paper discharge device 100 allows the holding unit 101 to be rotated to reach the discharge position so that the recording medium P is discharged. When the recording medium P is collected, the paper discharge device 100 allows the recording medium P to be held again within the holding unit 101, and then allows the holding unit 101 to be rotated to reach the collecting position.

The buffer reservoir has a negative pressure device that generates a negative pressure in a buffer reservoir. The negative pressure acts on the printing substrate web to pull the printing substrate web drawn by the drive unit into the buffer reservoir and thereby tensions the printing substrate web before it is supplied to the internal transport path.

The guide member is configured for coming into contact with a terminal end of the paper delivered from the paper magazine which end assumes a hanging-down posture as a result of a paper rewinding operation effected after detachment of the terminal end from said shaft portion as a result of a paper delivering operation effected with the paper magazine being set under a predetermined posture.

摘要： A printer includes a print mechanism for performing printing operations and a print medium feeding mechanism for feeding a print medium past the print mechanism so that printing operations can be performed on the print medium. The print medium feeding mechanism includes a forward feed apparatus located downstream of the print mechanism for feeding the print medium in the forward direction past the print mechanism and a print medium tensioning apparatus. The tensioning apparatus includes at least one pair of pressure wheels rotatably mounted on the frame and located on opposite sides of a print medium being fed by the forward feed apparatus and means for restricting the rotation of at least one of the pressure wheels, whereby the pressure wheels exert a retarding force on the print medium tending to tension the print medium. Each pressure wheel is constructed so that it is flexible in the axial direction so as to permit lateral movement of a print medium as it passes between the pair of pressure wheels.The print medium feeding mechanism also includes drive means for rotating at least one of the pressure wheels in the reverse direction so as to provide for reverse feed of the print medium. This drive means is coupled through a one way coupling so as not to affect the ability of the pressure wheel to rotate during forward feed of the print medium.
