摘要: The invention is drawn to a compound having the following formula ##STR1## in which X.sup.1 and X.sup.2, which may be the same or different, represent hydrogen or a hydroxy-protecting group, X.sup.4 is hydrogen, A is selected from --COOAlkyl and CH.sub.2 OH, and B is a hydroxy group, or A and B, when taken together, represent an oxo group. These compounds are useful as intermediates in the production of 19-nor vitamin D derivatives.

摘要: The cycloaliphatic aldehydes of formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.0, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 represent independently a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl from C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 and X stands for a group of formula ##STR2## wherein R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 represent independenly a lower alkyl radical from C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 and R.sup.5 represents a lower alkyl radical or hydrogen, provided that R.sup.1, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 do not represent simulataneously a methyl radical whenever R.sup.0 and R.sup.2 represent each a hydrogen atom, are prepared from enol esters of formula ##STR3## wherein the wavy line stands for a --C--O-- bond of cis or trans configuration, Y represents an acyl group or P(O)(OR).sub.2, wherein R stands for a lower alkyl monovalent radical or an aryl, and Z defines a group of formula ##STR4## wherein R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are defined as above, by cyclisation carried out by means of an acidic cyclisation agent.

摘要: A process for preparing 3(4),8(9)-bisformyltricyclo[5.2.1.02.6]decane by hydroformylating dicyclopentadiene with subsequent distillation wherein the hydroformylation of dicyclopentadiene is carried out in two stages, and, in the first hydroformylation stage, the reaction is effected in a heterogeneous reaction system using an aqueous solution of transition metal compounds, containing water-soluble organic phosphorus (lll) compounds in complex-bound form, of group Vlll of the Period Table of the Elements to give 8(9)-bisformyltricyclo[5.2.1.02.6]dec-3-ene, and, in a second hydroformylation stage, the thus obtained 8(9)-bisformyltricyclo[5.2.1.02.6]dec-3-ene is converted, in homogeneous organic phase in the presence of transition metal compounds of group Vlll of the Periodic Table of the Elements to 3(4),8(9)-bisformyltricyclo[5.2.1.02.6]decane.

摘要: A process for preparing aldehydes of the general formula I ##STR1## where R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are each hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 -cycloalkyl, aryl, C.sub.7 -C.sub.12 -alkylphenyl, C.sub.7 -C.sub.12 -phenylalkyl and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are joined together to form a 3-, 4-, 5-, 6- or 7-membered cycloaliphatic ring, R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 are each C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, phenoxy, methylamino, dimethylamino or halogen, and R.sup.1 is additionally hydroxyl or amino comprises reacting a carboxylic acid or ester of the general formula II ##STR2## where R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are each as defined above, and R.sup.4 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 -cycloalkyl, aryl, C.sub.7 -C.sub.12 -alkylphenyl or C.sub.7 -C.sub.12 -phenylalkyl, with hydrogen in the gas phase at temperatures from 200.degree. to 450.degree. C. and pressures from 0.1 to 20 bar in the presence of a catalyst whose catalytically active mass comprises from 60 to 99.9% by weight of zirconium oxide and from 0.1 to 40% by weight of one or more elements of the lanthanides.
