    摘要： The invention relates to novel phenoxyphenylamino acid derivatives of the formula I ##STR1## wherein X is hydrogen, chlorine, fluorine or bromine,R.sup.1 is hydrogen, nitroso, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkenyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylcarbonyl or C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkenylcarbonyl, each of which is unsubstituted or substituted by one or more halogen atoms,Q is a straight chain or branched aliphatic radical of 1 to 5 carbon atoms ##STR2## in which A', E', G', L' and M' are hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, or two adjacent substituents A', E', G', L' and M' together are also a bond between the two carbon atoms to which they are attached; A, E, G, L and M are hydrogen or one or two of A, E, G, L and M are also --OR.sup.2, --SR.sup.3, --COOR.sup.4, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl substituted by --OR.sup.5, --SR.sup.6 or --COOR.sup.7, where R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 are hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl; a, b, c and d are 0 or 1; or R.sup.1 and G together are a trimethylene bridge and a, b, c and d are 0; andZ is --COO.sup..crclbar. Me.sup..sym., --COOR.sup.8, --COSR.sup.8, --CONR.sup.9 R.sup.10, --COR.sup.11 or --CN, where Me.sup..sym. is a cation, R.sup.8 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, cyano or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, or is C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 alkenyl or C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 alkynyl, R.sup.9 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 cycloalkyl, R.sup.10 is hydrogen, amino, hydroxyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, or is C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkynyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy or C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 cycloalkylaminocarbonyl and R.sup.11 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, with the proviso that, in compounds in which simultaneously R.sup.1 is hydrogen and a, b, c and d are O, (i) G is --OR.sup.2, -- COOR.sup.4 or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl which is substituted by --OR.sup.5, --SR.sup.6 or --COOR.sup.7, or (ii) G and G' are both C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl and also to the preparation of these compounds. The compounds of formula I or compositions containing them may be used for controlling undesirable plant growth and for desiccating and defoliating cotton and potato plants.

    摘要： Aromatic compounds are nitrated in the vapor phase via a process comprising contacting the aromatic compound with a nitrating agent in the presence of a nitration promotion catalyst which comprises the adduct of:(a) an alumina-silica-metal oxide combination represented by the formula:(Al.sub.2 O.sub.3).sub.a (SiO.sub.2).sub.b (M.sub.2/n O).sub.c wherein M is a metal cation selected from the group consisting of the lanthanides or rare earths, Groups 1b, 2b, 5b, 6b, 7b, and 8 of the Periodic Table of the Elements, and mixtures thereof, and a, b, and c represent weight percent of the Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, SiO.sub.2, and M.sub.2/n O components, respectively, in the alumina-silica-metal oxide combination, with a being 0 to 100, b being 0 to 100, and c being 0 to 50, and n represents an integer from 1 to 7 of the valence of the metal cation, with the proviso that the sum of (a+b) must be greater than 0, and(b) a catalytically effective amount of sulfur trioxide.

    摘要： This invention relates to a process for the preparation of 4-[2-(dimethylamino)-ethoxy]-2-methyl-5-(1-methylethyl)-phenol esters (I) and their salts with organic and inorganic acids comprising the reaction of thymol with a salt of an 1-halo-dimethylaminoethane to obtain ethylamine-N,N-dimethyl-2-(thymyloxy) (II), the subsequent reaction of (II) with an acylating agent according to the Friedel and Kraft reaction to obtain 4-[2-(dimethylamino)-ethoxy]-2-methyl-5-(1-methylethyl)-1-acyl-benzene (III) and the oxidation of (III) to obtain the products (I) which, if desired, may be transformed in their salts with organic or inorganic acids.This process allows to obtain the products (I) in high quality and quantity without isolating any intermediate product.
