    摘要: A process for recovering sulfur in a sulfur recovery unit comprising the steps of reacting hydrogen sulfide and oxygen in the reaction furnace at a minimum reaction temperature to produce a reaction effluent; reducing the temperature of the reaction effluent from the minimum reaction temperature to a boiler section outlet temperature to produce a cooled effluent, the cooled effluent comprises hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, and sulfur-containing contaminants; reacting the hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, and sulfur-containing contaminants in the catalytic extension to produce a boiler catalytic effluent; reducing the boiler catalytic effluent temperature such that the elemental sulfur condenses to form liquid sulfur and a gases stream; reacting the hydrogen sulfide and sulfur-containing contaminants with the oxygen to produce an oxidizer outlet stream comprises sulfur dioxide; and separating the sulfur dioxide in the scrubbing unit to produce a recycle stream and an effluent gases, the recycle stream comprises sulfur dioxide.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a process and a device for the combustion of sulphur and/or sulphur-containing compounds, via which a sufficient production of SO2-containing gases having a high SO2 concentration is made possible. The combustion preferably proceeds using a combustion gas which has an oxygen fraction at least as high as air, but preferably a higher fraction of oxygen. The process and the device should be suitable, in particular, for providing sulphur dioxide as a source for further production of sulphuric acid or highly concentrated SO3-containing gases. In addition, the device and the process should be suitable for oxidizing hydrogen-sulphide-containing gases, such as occur, for example, in the refinery industry, in high concentrations to SO2.

    摘要: A process for treating acid gas comprising hydrogen sulfide comprises introducing a first acid gas into a reducing furnace to produce a first oxidized gas stream, cooling the first oxidized gas stream in a first heat recovery system, introducing the cooled gas stream into an oxidizing furnace to produce a second oxidized gas stream and cooling the second oxidized gas stream in a second heat recovery system. The acid gas is preferably produced in a refinery after treatment of sour gas or sour water. Spent acid may be fed into oxidizing furnace as part of a sulfuric acid recovery process. The spent acid can be spent sulfuric acid from a sulfuric acid alkylation process.

    摘要: A process for the processing of spent photographic baths of black and white processes, namely developing baths with a preponderant content of alkali sulphite, particularly sodium sulphite, and fixing baths with a preponderant content of thiosulphates, particularly ammonium thiosulphate and/or sodium thiosulphate is proposed and is characterized in that following the deposition of the silver contained in the baths, the spent fixing baths are brought to a pH of approximately 0.5 with concentrated HCl and the elementary sulphur resulting from the decomposition of the thiosulphates is separated, whilst the remaining sulphurous acid intermediate solution is mixed with the spent developing baths and adjusted to a pH of approximately 2 and the resulting, SO.sub.2 -supersaturated solution is heated and pure SO.sub.2 is drawn off in a vacuum. Finally, the residual solution is adjusted to a pH of approximately 10 with Ca(OH).sub.2 and the liberated ammonia is drawn off.
