摘要: The object of this invention is to decrease a stress to accumulate in a resin layer while preventing any uncured portion from forming in a side surface of the resin layer. In order to achieve this object, this invention provides a composite element manufacturing method of forming, on a surface of a base material, a resin layer to which the shape of a molding surface of a mold is transferred, thus manufacturing a composite element in which the base material and the resin layer are integrated. The resin layer is released from the mold when the resin layer is in a cured state where a viscosity Log null of a resin that forms the resin layer is 10 to 15 nulldPa.snull.

摘要: A solid immersion lens structure is a translucent pliant elastomer cast to a desired shape and smoothness. A method for construction of a solid immersion lens structure includes providing a mold defining a lens shaped cavity in which a solid immersion lens is cast, casting a translucent liquid elastomeric material into the lens cavity, permitting the elastomeric material to set to form the solid immersion lens portion and removing the solid immersion lens portion from the mold. A specific material for use as the solid immersion lens is a translucent silicone elastomer of a refractive index greater than nnull1.4, such as General Electric RTV 615.

摘要: An optical system for use in a head-mounted display is provided which includes a microdisplay (4) and a magnifier (10) for producing a magnified image of the microdisplay for viewing by a human eye. The magnifier (10) includes a diffractive surface and has in order: a first element (1) having a first surface (S1) which is convex in the direction of the long conjugate, a block (3) of optical material, and a second element (2) having a second surface (S2) which is convex in the direction of the short conjugate. The first surface (S1) is preferably the diffractive surface. The magnifier provides a long eye relief, a large exit pupil, and a large field of view with a minimum of components.

摘要: A lens has a lens body (1), reinforcing extensions (3a, 3b) and a clear aperture (9) surrounded on top and bottom by lens body. The lens is suitable for spot scanning. The lens is made of a water absorbing material, such as most polymers, particularly acrylate polymers. Aluminum sheets as vapor barriers are attached on each side of the lens body. This results in excellent resistance to change or distortion in high humidity environments.
