    摘要: In a portable device, a first battery has a positive terminal coupled to, through a first switch, an interface used to receive input power, and a negative terminal coupled to a reference terminal. A second battery has a positive terminal coupled to the interface, and a negative terminal coupled to the reference terminal through a second switch, and to the first battery’s positive terminal through a third switch. A control circuitry controls the switches such that the device has multiple operation modes including at least a one-battery charging mode and a two-battery-in-series charging mode. In the one-battery charging mode, the circuitry turns off the third switch, and controls the other switches such that one battery is charged by the input power. In the two-battery-in-series charging mode, the control circuitry turns on the third switch and turns off the other switches, such that two batteries are charged by the input power.

The connected state is a state that a corresponding battery is connected in series with other batteries and the non-connected state is a state that the corresponding battery is disconnected from a series connection with the other batteries. The control unit is configured to determine whether each voltage of the plurality of batteries reaches a charge end voltage during charging, and to control the switching unit corresponding to the battery which is determined to reach the charge end voltage to switch to the non-connected state.

    摘要: A voltage controller capable of generating a staircase voltage is made up of a plurality of energy storage devices series connected with respective solid state switch devices. The solid state switch devices can be turned on or off to connect different combinations of the batteries in series with the output of the controller, the voltage output being proportional to the number of batteries connected in series in any particular combination. By cycling between different switch combinations, and reversing the polarity of the output once every cycle, an approximated sine wave output can be obtained. By providing a voltage input, the device can also function as a voltage converter or transformer-like device. Individual steps can be pulse width modulated simply by controlling the switch combinations, and by adding a linear switch device at the input, analog modulation of the step voltages can be obtained.

    摘要: A motor vehicle powered by a DC motor has a pedal which is depressed by the driver to increase speed by actuating a tapping switch which has two sets of moving contacts cooperating with stationary contacts to progressively connect with the motor batteries from one or the other end of a bank of series connected batteries. An alternate action relay connected between said motor and the switch determines which of the two sets is connected in circuit with the motor. The relay has two positions to alternately connect one or the other of the tapping switch contact sets in circuit with said motor. A main solenoid switch is connected in series with the relay and the tapping switch. When the pedal is depressed, a foot switch operated by the pedal is operative to close a circuit enabling energization of the alternate action relay and the main solenoid switch. A microprocessor controls operation of the relay and the main solenoid. When the pedal is released, the foot switch opens the enabling circuit and provides a signal to the microprocessor to restart the microprocessor program. The program including a register which is incremented with each passage of the logic responds to the incremented count in the register to energize the relay on alternate counts.
