    摘要: An isochronous output data stream format which is time multiplexed and has a fixed time period where input isochronous data streams are multiplexed into the output isochronous data stream and the output data stream is the same data rate as the fastest input isochronous data stream. In another embodiment, an isochronous output data stream format which is time multiplexed and has a fixed time period where input isochronous data streams are multiplexed into the output isochronous data stream and the output data stream is the sum of the maximum input isochronous data streams.     摘要: The present invention includes an improved switching device (400) which operates in a shared media environment. The switching device (400) in accordance with the present invention includes a tag header processing means (402) operable to insert a tag header into frames that enter the switching device (400) without a tag header and CRC processing means (404) operable to calculate a CRC for the frame excluding the tag header for use while the frame is being processed within the switching device (400). The tag header processing means (402) is further operable, when the internal switch processing of the frame is completed and the frame is ready to be transmitted, to determine whether or not the frame should be transmitted without a tag header and removing the tag header if it is not. The CRC processing means (404) is further operable to calculate a CRC for the frame when the internal processing of the frame is completed and, if the frame was originally received with a tag header, to corrupt the CRC if needed based on parity bits included in the tag header when the frame was received.

The switching logic includes an address table configured for storing address-based switching decisions, a trunk table configured for assigning each network switch port to a corresponding identified trunk, and a trunk distribution table identifying the network switch ports assigned to each identified trunk. The switching logic determines the output port for each corresponding received layer 2 type data packet based on a corresponding switching decision for the received layer 2 type data packet, and based on selection of an entry in the trunk distribution table based on information within the received layer 2 type data packet. Hence, the network switch is able to perform trunk-based switching with minimal complexity, ensuring switching of data packets at the wire rate.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method and a device for increasing a data throughput in network applications for the transmission of data at high speed, for example, the internet, via a packet oriented cordless data network, for example, the GPRS network. The internet application provides for data in the form of data packets (n,n+1,n+2,n+3, . . . ). In case of transmission via the internet the data packets are transmitted via different paths, which is why the data packets are available to the GPRS network at an intermediate node in the wrong sequence. Also, data packets get lost, which upon a new request are available also in the wrong sequence. Due to a different bandwidth a number of data packets is available for transmission at the intermediate node of the GPRS network while a first data packet is transmitted. The sequence of the available data packets is determined and the data packets are sorted for being available for transmission in a sorted sequence.
