Abstract: According to the present invention, there is provided a pipe forming apparatus for forming a pipe at an installation site. The apparatus includes a former upon which material is wound, and a mold for receiving the former bearing the wound material. An applicator is provided for applying curable liquid within the mold. Advantageously, the pipe is formed at site to provide for efficient formation of a pipeline. A transported ISO container providing the material and curable liquid to the site can produce 800 metres of pipeline section, compared with 60 metres in the prior art, representing a significant increase in efficiency.

Abstract: A process for manufacturing a composite material part includes formation of a fibrous texture from refractory ceramic fibres, placement of the fibrous texture in a mould with interposition of a filtration layer between the fibrous texture and a discharge port, the filtration layer including a partially densified fibrous structure, pressure injection of a slurry containing a powder of refractory ceramic particles into the fibrous texture, drainage by the filtration layer of the slurry solvent having passed through the fibrous texture and retention of the powder of refractory ceramic particles within the texture by the filtration layer to obtain a fibrous preform including the fibrous texture filled with refractory ceramic particles and the filtration layer, heat treatment of the refractory ceramic particles present in the fibrous texture of the preform to form a composite material part including the fibrous texture densified by a refractory ceramic matrix and the filtration layer.

Abstract: An arrow head cluster is created utilizing an injection mold. An upper cluster cavity is formed in an upper die member and a lower cluster cavity is created in a lower die member. The upper and lower cluster cavities, when joined create a cluster cavity. The cluster cavity is used to create the arrow head cluster, after molten material is injected into the injection mold. The cluster cavity includes a plurality of chambers for creating a plurality of arrow heads. The plurality of chambers are connected to each other with a plurality of flow channels and a support frame. The injected material includes metals, ceramic and plastic. The materials are injected into the cluster cavity through the plurality of flow channels. The plurality of flow channels allow the material to flow evenly through the plurality of cluster cavities.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for producing a core for use in casting a gas turbine component is provided. The apparatus comprises a system having a cavity block with an upper portion, a lower portion, and a recessed cavity in each of the upper portion and the lower portion. Positioned within the cavity block is an adapter insert, and within the adapter insert is positioned a core die insert, where the core die insert is fabricated from a sacrificial material and has a hollow internal profile corresponding to an external surface of a core. A ceramic-based material is supplied to the core die insert where it solidifies. The core die insert is placed into a water-based solution and the core die insert is removed from around the core.

Abstract: A composition is provided. The composition consists essentially of (a) 1 to 30 wt. % of a hydrogen phosphate selected from the group consisting of mono and dihydrogen phosphates of sodium, potassium, ammonium, magnesium, calcium, aluminium, zinc, iron, cobalt, and copper; (b) 1 to 40 wt. % of a compound selected from the group consisting of oxides, hydroxides, and oxide hydrates of magnesium, calcium, iron, zinc, and copper; (c) 40 to 95 wt. % of a particulate filler selected from the group consisting of glass; mono-, oligo- and poly-phosphates of magnesium, calcium, barium and aluminum; calcium sulfate; barium sulfate; simple and complex silicates; simple and complex aluminates; simple and complex titanates; simple and complex zirconates; zirconium dioxide; titanium dioxide; aluminum oxide; silicon dioxide; silicon carbide; aluminum nitride; boron nitride and silicon nitride; and (d) 0 to 25 wt. % of a constituent that differs from constituents (a) to (c).
