摘要: A power system for a vehicle includes a first energy storage device coupled to an electrical load, a second energy storage device, a first switch and a second switch arranged in series between the second energy storage device and the electrical load, such that the second switch is electrically decoupled from the second energy storage device when the first switch is open, and a controller coupled to the first switch. The controller is configured to command the first switch to disconnect the second energy storage device from the electrical load in response to an indication of a power draw from the electrical load. The first energy storage device utilizes a first energy storage technology. The second energy storage device utilizes a second energy storage technology different from the first energy storage technology.

摘要: An electric vehicle, system and method of charge transfer at the electric vehicle. The vehicle includes a charging circuit and a processor. The charging circuit includes a first battery, a second battery and a motor winding. The processor determines a desired reference current of the motor winding, a first voltage of the first battery and a second voltage of the second battery, calculates a power loss for each of a plurality of conduction modes based on the desired reference current, the first voltage and the second voltage, wherein each of the plurality of conduction modes transfers charge between the first battery and the second battery, selects a conduction mode from the plurality of conduction modes that has a least power loss, establishes a duty cycle parameter for the selected mode, and applies the conduction mode and the duty cycle parameter to the charging circuit to transfer the charge.

摘要: A method and a system for a high-voltage (HV) battery pack having multiple rechargeable energy storage devices (RESSs) that are connectable to an external load via a power bus via a pre-charge circuit in parallel with a first electrical contactor. The RESSs are monitored via current sensors. The current sensors monitor current levels between the RESSs and the power bus, detect a low current level from one of the current sensors, identify one of the RESSs associated with the low current level, activate the respective pre-charge circuit, monitor the electrical current, and determine a state of the respective first electrical contactor based upon the electrical current.

摘要: A computer system includes a processor device configured to determine battery current of each battery pack of a plurality of parallelly connected battery packs of an energy storage system of a vehicle, determine a system current for all of the plurality of parallelly connected battery packs in the energy storage system, compare the determined battery current with a predetermined battery pack overcurrent threshold for each one of the battery packs, and comparing the determined system current with a system overcurrent threshold, activate an overcurrent fuse of an associated battery pack in response to the determined battery current of the associated battery pack being higher than the battery pack overcurrent threshold, and to activate the overcurrent fuse of at least one of the same battery packs in response to the determined system current being higher than the system overcurrent threshold.
