摘要: A method of operating a plasma torch in a chemical reactor comprising a plasma torch and a liquid circulation system is described. Tin the liquid circulating system comprises a conductive material solid at ambient temperature and liquid at a reaction temperature. The method first involves operating the plasma torch to decompose a feedstock gas, so that the decomposition products are output into the liquid circulating system. The plasma torch is then shut down, with the result that an electrode of the plasma torch is at least partially flooded by conductive material from the liquid circulating system. The conductive material cools to form a conductive plug. On reigniting the plasma torch to restart the chemical reactor, a conduction path is formed through the conductive plug to melt it.

摘要: A system and method to produce olefins may include one or more pre-heating assemblies to heat one or more of a hydrocarbon feed or dilution steam, and one or more cracking furnaces in flow communication with at least one of the pre-heating assemblies. At least one of the cracking furnaces may be at least partially powered by electricity or hydrogen to generate heat to at least partially crack the hydrocarbon feed into at least partially cracked hydrocarbons including olefins and methane. The system further may include one or more pyrolyzers to separate methane from the at least partially cracked hydrocarbons into carbon black and hydrogen. The system still further may include one or more converters to convert hydrogen into electricity. The systems and methods may result in more efficient production of olefins and relatively reduced emission of carbon dioxide.

摘要: A high temperature heat integration method of making carbon black. A method of making carbon black is described, including reacting a carbon black forming feedstock with hydrogen gas in a plasma reactor to produce effluent gas containing carbon black and unused hydrogen, cooling the effluent gas for further processing, and recycling the unused hydrogen back into the carbon black forming process, where the unused hydrogen gas is pre-heated in a heat exchanger to a temperature up to the reaction temperature in the reactor before being recycled into the carbon black forming process. The heat exchanger for use in such process is also described.

摘要: A method for preparing carbon black from pyrolysis char of waste tires by a molten salt thermal treatment and a product thereof are provided. The method includes heating one or two groups of a metal chloride salt group and a metal sulfate group to obtain a molten salt; adding pyrolysis char of waste tires into the molten salt and subjecting same to a molten salt thermal treatment under a preset reaction atmosphere; after the reaction is complete, separating the reaction product to obtain a secondary molten salt and treated pyrolysis char, washing the treated pyrolysis char with hot water and then drying same so as to obtain carbon black, and at the same time, recycling the secondary molten salt.

摘要: A product produced by a process that includes shredding a set of tires into a volume of tire rubber segments, the set of tires selected from car tires and truck tires such that specific percentage amounts of rubber from car tires and rubber from truck tires are included within the volume of tire rubber segments. The process additionally including thermally depolymerizing the volume of tire rubber segments into a volume of carbonaceous material; comminuting the volume of carbonaceous material; removing from the volume of carbonaceous material agglomerates larger than the maximum agglomerate diameter; within a mixer, mixing the volume of carbonaceous material with a binding agent over a first interval, the mixer inducing formation of a set of pellets of a range of pellet diameters; and removing from the set of pellets a first subset of pellets larger than a maximum pellet size.

摘要: A device (1) and method are claimed for converting thermal energy into dissociation energy of molecules of a gas medium (3). The device also incorporates a system (8) for drawing off at least one product of dissociation of molecules of the gas medium (3).

摘要: A composite polymer composition comprising partially crystallized carbon black. The composition exhibits superior thermal transfer properties in plastic formulations. The polymer precursor exhibits excellent rheology when compared to similar compositions comprising traditional carbon blacks. The composite polymers provide for higher loading of more thermally conductive carbon blacks in a variety of composite polymer compositions.
