    摘要: A hydrodynamic machine contains a bladed primary wheel driven by a rotary shaft and a bladed secondary wheel, which together form a work chamber filled with a working medium. The machine has a pressure pump for delivering a working medium from the work chamber. The pressure pump has a first inlet, which projects into the work chamber, and has a first inlet opening which is aligned with the rotary shaft in the circumferential direction. The pressure pump has a second inlet which projects into the work chamber and has a second inlet opening which is aligned to the rotary shaft in the circumferential direction opposite to the first inlet opening. The first and second inlets are joined to a common working medium channel behind the two inlet openings. The first and second inlets extend adjacent to each other in the same flow direction separated by a separation wall.

    摘要: An electro-hydraulic control system is provided for a transmission with a torque-transmitting mechanism that has a dual area piston. When pressurized fluid is provided to a first of the two piston areas, the position of a spring-biased shift valve controls whether pressurized fluid communicates with the second piston area. A solenoid valve in fluid communication with the shift valve is energizable to direct pressurized fluid to the shift valve to urge the shift valve to the unstroked position to which the spring also urges. The shift valve may also be urged by pressurized fluid to the stroked position, but only when the solenoid valve is not energized. The spring maintains the shift valve in the unstroked position when pressurized fluid is directed to the shift valve to act both against and with the spring.

    摘要: In a system for supplying oil to a fluid drive, the fluid drive having an impeller, and a runner fluidically coupled by oil between them, the degree of coupling being determined by the amount of oil between them, a temperature sensor is located to sense the temperature of oil as it is being discharged from the impeller-runner, and the temperature so sensed is translated into the opening and restricting of a control valve controlling the flow of oil to the fluid drive to maintain the discharged oil temperature substantially constant. An external reservoir is connected to the sump of the fluid drive by pipe of sufficient size to provide a head space above the oil being removed from the sump, and the reservoir itself is of such a size as to provide head space and to provide a dwell time long enough to permit detrainment from the oil of air entrained in the oil as it passes through the fluid drive system. AC motor driven pumps are provided connected to supply circuit oil to the fluid drive and lubricating oil to the bearings, and a stand-by DC motor driven pump is provided, energized in response to an abnormal condition such as loss of AC power, overheating of the circuit oil or drastic loss of pressure in the lubricating oil system, to supply lubrication oil directly to the bearings and cooling oil to the fluid drive.
