    摘要: A viscous clutch head may be replaced by selecting a viscous clutch head and a mount adapter. The viscous clutch head and the mount adapter may be selected from a group of universal modular fan drives and from a group of mount adapters. The mount adapter of a threaded type or a flange and bolt type may be selected. Depending on the viscous clutch head to be replaced, a fan adapter and/or a pilot adapter may also be selected from a group of fan adapters and from a group of pilot adapters. Accordingly, a range of models of viscous fan clutch systems may be replaced by using a limited number of parts. These parts may be stored on a tool cart. As different models of viscous fan clutch systems may be replaced using a limited number of parts, the in-stock inventory of replacement parts may be reduced.

    摘要: A viscous clutch includes an input member, an output member, a working chamber, a reservoir to hold a supply of a shear fluid, an outlet, a return bore, an accumulator, and a first wall having an arcuate segment. The reservoir is connected to the working chamber by a fluid circuit, along which the outlet passes the shear fluid from the reservoir to the working chamber and the return bore returns the shear fluid pumped out of the working chamber to the accumulator. The accumulator is arranged in series with the reservoir in the fluid circuit. The first wall is positioned within the reservoir to separate a first portion from a second portion.

    摘要: A hydraulic control system with clutch and torque converter control for a CVT includes a pressure regulator subsystem, a cooler subsystem, a manual valve assembly, and a torque converter control valve assembly connected to the torque converter clutch (TCC) and the cooler subsystem. A boost valve assembly is connected to the pressure regulator subsystem, the manual valve assembly, and the torque converter clutch control valve assembly. A clutch control solenoid is configured to move the boost valve to the boost position and the control valve to the release position and to control a pressure of the hydraulic fluid provided to the manual valve assembly. A TCC control solenoid is configured to move the boost valve to the boost position and to control a pressure of the hydraulic fluid provided to the torque converter control valve assembly.

The turbine 42 is coupled by relatively non-rotatable spline fitting to the input shaft 48 at a position closer to the automatic transmission 20 than the pump blades 40 and the turbine blades 44 in a first axial center C1 direction of the torque converter 18, i.e., at a position closer to the automatic transmission 20 than an outer shell cover of the torque converter 18.

    摘要: A viscous coupling includes a case body for forming a working chamber which contains the viscous fluid, a shaft inserted into the case body in such a manner that the shaft is relatively rotatable with respect to the case body, a plurality of inner plates coupled to the shaft, and a plurality of outer plates, coupled to the case body, which are arranged in the working chamber in such a manner as to be spaced apart from the inner plates with a pitch in an axial direction of the shaft. The pitch between each of the inner plates and each of the outer plates is adjustable by deforming either of the inner plates and the outer plates in response to the rotation speed of the shaft or the case body.
