Abstract:
A method may receive, over a network and at a host's media player that is logged in to a host's media account, a play request from a guest's device. The play request may include a request to play a guest's media item from the guest's media account and may be compliant with a first protocol. In response to receiving the play request, the method may initiate a guest mode on the host's media player, log out the host's media account, and securely store the host's credentials. The method may log in the guest's media account with fewer permissions than the host's permissions. The method may play the guest's media item and establish a connection between the host's media player and the guest's device in accordance with a second protocol. Upon completion of playback, the method may log out the guest's media account and log in the host's media account.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for managing a subscription to a plurality of content providers and the irretrievably referring users to an interface of the content provider to directly consume media programs provided by the content providers is disclosed. The method irretrievably passes users to content providers so that the user can view media programs from those content providers using the content provider's application, while providing a central source for users to locate media programs available from a plurality of content providers and to subscribe for access to such media programs. This construct permits content providers to retain control over the user viewing experience and to encourage the user to view further media programs from the same content provider.
Abstract:
The technology described herein is directed towards content rights data that are associated with content (a data item) to make that content selectively available or unavailable in responses by a data service to client requests. A client includes client content rights data in association with each request, (e.g., via a token), and the data service uses that client content rights data as query parameters (constraint criteria) in making a request for a data item. Client content rights data also may be used for accessing cached data. Availability constraints may include client location, brand, channel, device class and time (commence and cease).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for distributing multimedia licenses (LIR, LIS) through a server to a plurality of devices in a distribution system of a protected-access multimedia service by first protection (KT1). This method aims to: - verify that the computation resources used by the server do not exceed a maximum threshold, and if they do, generate, then send regular licenses (LIR) including the first protection (KT1) in response to requests from the devices, and if not, switch the server to a singular mode consisting of: - protecting access to the multimedia service by second protection (KT2), independent of the first protection (KT1), - generating and sending to the devices a singular licence (LIS) including the second protection (KT2), - verifying that the computation resources do not exceed the maximum threshold, and if they do, switching from the singular mode to a regular mode so as to protect access to the multimedia service using only said first protection (KT1).
Abstract:
Abstract:
Receiver of television signals (1) received via air, cable, internet or by way of connection to an external device (3), comprising: - memory means (13,3) wherein contents are stored, received through said receiver (1), - data management means (11) configured for organizing and displaying the contents of said memory means (13,3), characterized by the fact that said data management means (11) carry out an authentication procedure that allows for a determined user to be associated to his/her profile (User:165483, User:186521, User:281645), that allows for storing and/or accessing private data of said memory means (13,3), that are associated uniquely to said determined user (User:165483, User:186521, User:281645), and that do not appear to exist when exploring the contents of said memory means (13,3), if beforehand said authentication procedure has not been carried out by said determined user (User:165483, User:186521, User:281645).
Abstract:
A method and a system for enabling delivery of at least part of a digital rights management (DRM) protected segmented content item to a content processing device is described wherein segmented content item is associated with a manifest file, comprising at least a first segment identifier associated with a first segment being encrypted on the basis a first key; and, a second segment identifier associated with a different, second, segment being encrypted on the basis of a second key; said manifest file further comprising key information for enabling decryption of at least one of said first and second encrypted segments. Said method may comprise: a secure module, preferably a DRM module, in said content processing device requesting a DRM server access to at least part of said segmented content item; and, providing said secure module access to at least part of said key information, if said content access request is granted by said DRM server.
