Abstract:
A priority restore agent in a data storage system generates a priority restore data set for a client computer system or device by identifying a set of active data sets and/or a set of key data sets within client system data generated by the client computer system. The priority restore agent looks at or processes file system attributes for the client system data and compares these attributes with predefined restore parameters. The restore parameters may indicate that any file that has been accessed, modified, or created within a particular period of time be included in the priority restore data set. The key data sets may be identified in a set of automated restore rules. A data protection application within the data storage system can restore data in the priority restore data set onto the client computer system after a disaster or system crash.
Abstract:
A system for collecting, evaluating and using usage activity includes one or more media devices and a network with a ratings service. A media device includes a logging service for logging usage activity when media content is accessed and played, shared, deleted and/or stored. When a connection to the network is present, the usage activity is transmitted to the ratings service. The ratings service evaluates the usage activity and prepares a usage report, which can be transmitted to one or more content providers and/or can be used to refine programming content and/or influence advertising decisions. A content provider can collect votes by sending a list of possible song choices to media devices and receiving vote data collected by logging services on the media devices. The vote data is evaluated and a vote report is prepared that can be used to refine programming content and/or to influence advertising decisions.
Abstract:
A computing system for gathering media status information and other information about contacts in a user's contact list includes a server, a user device, and one or more contacts (or contact devices). The user device communicates with the server and requests media status information regarding the contacts. Media status information may include information about the media content currently (or most recently) accessed by the contacts. The server receives the request from the user device, collects the information and sends it to the user device. The server may else send connection information to the user device. The user device receives the information and displays it to the user. The user device may include a message service such that messages can be sent to and received from the contacts. Also, the user may request particular media content accessed by the contacts.
Abstract:
A method for preparing tapped data for analysis. The data on a bus is sampled and latched at a certain rate to produce raw data. The raw data is then decoded by a pod that is configured for the protocol of the bus in a system under test. The decoded data can then be presented to a protocol analyzer for analysis. The decoded data and the corresponding raw data may also be aligned and then presented to an analyzer for protocol analysis.
Abstract:
Discovering content on a device. Content stored on a device can be examined or searched based on the programming of channels that are available to the device. The content can be searched using other rules related to user preferences. Based on the results of the examination of the content, playlists are generated. Each playlist includes content from the device that matches or partially matches the content associated with one of the channels. Using the playlists, a user can load content from their device that has a theme consistent with a particular channel. The playlists can also be used to tune to the channels associated with the playlists and thereby discover the content on those channels.
Abstract:
A device includes a speech input device. A speech recognition processor connected to the speech input device receives speech input. The device includes a computer readable medium coupled to the speech recognition processor. A command table stored on the computer readable medium includes commands corresponding to a control on a manual input interface on a digital music player. The digital music player is separate from the speech input device. The speech recognition processor compares the speech input to the commands in the command table and generates instructions if the speech input matches a command in the command table. A programmable controller is coupled to the speech recognition processor and is configured to receive instructions and to convert the instructions into control signals. The device includes a standard interface connector coupled to the programmable controller. The programmable controller sends the control signals through the standard interface connector.
Abstract:
An optical bus. Optical sub-assemblies are used to connect lengths of optical fiber to form a single optical fiber that is a bus. A master transceiver may be connected to one end of the fiber and nodes can be connected to the optical sub-assemblies. Each optical sub-assembly includes a center fiber with a mirror that enables each connector to reflect optical signals out of the fiber and that enables a node to launch optical signals on the optical bus. The optical bus can also be connected with a second transceiver that may be used to deliver optical power to the attached nodes. Some nodes include two optical subassemblies to enable bidirectional communication on the optical bus.
Abstract:
An optical transceiver module having aplurality of optical subassemblies (1001 and a printed circuit board (150) is disclosed The transceiver module includes lead frame connectors (12,22) for connecting the optical subassemblies to the printed circuit board The lead frame connectors include a stamped and bent conductive lead structure (30) that is encased in an insert injection molded plastic casing (32) The plastic casing provides electrical insulation for the conductors in the lead frame as well as mechanical support for the finished component The lead frame connectors connect to the leads associated with the optical subassemblies and are surface mounte onto the printed circuit board to establish connectivity betwedn the optical subassembly and the printed circuit board The lead frame assemblies are generally more reliable and less expensive than using flexible printed circuit board structures to establish electrical connectivity between optical subassemblies and transceiver printed circuit boards
Abstract:
According to one example, a rack unit assembly is provided herein that includes a frame and a modular network component having at least one interlocking part associated therewith. The rack unit assembly also includes frame key mounted on the frame. The interlocking part is configured to be interlockingly coupled to the frame key.
Abstract:
An optical transmitter having an electro-optic transducer mounted directly on a temperature sensor. Due to the close proximity of the electro-optic transducer and the temperature sensor, the temperature sensor more accurately measures the temperature of the electro-optic transducer. This permits for more refined control of the frequency characteristics of optical light emitted by the electro-optic transducer since the emitted optical frequencies of most electro-optic transducers are heavily temperature dependent.
