A belt (30) for an elevator system (10) includes a plurality of tension members (42) arranged along a belt width (40), a jacket material (44) at least partially encapsulating the plurality of tension members defining a traction surface (32), a back surface (34) opposite the traction surface together with the traction surface defining a belt thickness (36), and two end surfaces (38) extending between the traction surface (32) and the back surface (34) defining the belt width (40). A metallic coating layer (50) applied from a liquid solution is positioned over at least one end surface of the two end surfaces (38).

Cette corde (2) pour raquette utilisée pour des sports de raquette comprend une âme (4) comportant sept monofilaments dont un monofilament central (40) et six monofilaments (42) de même diamètre et de même composition que le monofilament central (40), régulièrement répartis autour du filament central (40), et une matrice thermoplastique sans solvant dont les sept monofilaments (40, 42) sont imprégnés. Les sept monofilaments (40, 42) sont les seuls filaments dont la corde (2) est constituée. A cable or rope (1) comprising a cable or rope structure (4) and a sheath (2), the sheath (2) comprising at least one translucent or transparent section (3) and at least one section which is opaque. Thereby the cable or rope (1) is provided with weather protection or an aesthetic finish, whilst still allowing inspection of the cable structure or rope structure (4) in situ. A method of manufacturing the cable or rope (1) and a method of inspecting a cable structure of rope structure (4) is disclosed, too.

Elevator tension members are disclosed. The disclosed tension member longitudinally extends along a longitudinal axis and includes a plurality of fibers formed into one or more primary strands or cords extending parallel to the longitudinal axis and a plurality of fibers formed into one or more secondary strands or cords extending parallel to the longitudinal axis and through less than the full length of the belt, and a jacket retaining the primary and secondary strands or cords. The secondary strands or cords have a tensile modulus greater than a tensile modulus of the jacket and less than a tensile modulus of the primary strands or cords. Methods of making the tension member are also disclosed.

Said filaments (10) surrounded by the sizing material (12) are covered by a matrix (14) which is composed of a material containing at least one elastomer and/or at least one thermoplastic elastomer. Said cable can be used, in particular for pulling a load, for example in a goods lift.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a high strength fibers comprising a coating of cross-linked silicone polymer, and ropes made thereof. The fibers are preferably high performance polyethylene (HPPE) fibers. The coating comprising a cross-linked silicone polymer is made from a coating composition comprising a cross-linkable silicone polymer. The rope shows markedly improved service life performance in bending applications such as cyclic bend-over-sheave applications. The invention also relates to the use of a cross-linked silicone polymer in a rope for an improvement of bend fatigue resistance.
