Abstract:
Flexible pouch and flexible cartridge devices for fluid sample processing, related methods of making and using, related manufacturing systems and related instrumentation systems are described. Flexible pouches provide broad advantage in a wide variety of fields by overcoming the need for complex instrumentation, dedicated devices, and relatively high cost in conventional fluid sample devices. Flexible cartridge devices are particularly advantageous in control of fluid handling, rapid adaptation to a number of configurations by the end user, multiple uses for a single configuration, and in cost and ease of manufacture.
Abstract:
Methods for the early detection, enumeration and analysis of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are disclosed. These methods are useful for cancer screening, development of treatment regimens, and for monitoring for treatment responses, cancer recurrence or the like. Devices that facilitate the early detection, enumeration and analysis of such circulating tumor cells are also provided.
Abstract:
Provided are methods for validating the presence and character of genomic mutations, particularly single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), by parallel amplification of a portion or the whole genome with at least two different DNA polymerases.
Abstract:
A heuristic filtering system and method are described for variant DNA within a heterogeneous cell sample. After ion semiconductor sequencing, the amplicons are processed through a series of filters designed to eliminate noise in the variants to provide a clearer set of variant results. Reports are generated, showing both the filtered results and the effects the filters had on the original data.

Abstract:
Provided are stimulus-sensitive microparticles and their use, e.g. , in tracking the efficiency of recovery of a rare cell population ( e.g. , circulating tumor cells) from a mixture of cells; and in supplying control nucleic acids to index a molecular assay independent of the rare cell selection steps.
Abstract:
The invention relates generally to fluid processing and, in particular aspects, processing fluids for detection, selection, trapping and/or sorting of particulate moieties. Sheath flow devices described allow isolation of target species from fluid samples while avoiding non-specific binding of unwanted species to the surfaces of the separation device. Biological fluid processing, detection, sorting or selection of cells, proteins, and nucleic acids is described. The invention finds particular use in diagnostic settings, analyzing a patient's medical condition, monitoring and/or adjusting a therapeutic regimen and producing cell based products.
