    Abstract: A computer-implemented method of determining rating data for use in rating a service requested to be provided to a subscriber of a telecommunications system, the method comprising the steps of: storing individual subscriber records relating respectively to individual subscribers of a telecommunications systems. storing, in a subscriber record relating to a subscriber, information for use in determining rating data for use in rating a service requested to be provided to the subscriber, the information identifying one or more parameters of a service; receiving a request to provide a service to the subscriber, and determining rating data for use in rating the requested service in dependence on the information if one or more parameters of the service requested match the service parameters identified in the information.

    Abstract: This invention provides methods and systems for rapidly, accurately and efficiently depositing liquid droplets (130) onto a planar uper surface (117) of sample plate (115) held in sample plate holder (110) which is supported on, or incorporated into, a motion table (105) included in an LC MALDI sample distribution system (100) for MALDI-mass spectrometry sample preparation. System (100) also includes a holding mechanism (118) for holding at least one capillary (125) which terminates at a capillary tip (127) on which droplet (130) is formed. A power supply (135) forms an electric field between sample plate surface (117) and droplet (130) which acts to pull the droplet (130) onto the sample plate (115).

    Abstract: An oil/water separation system (116) for separating oil and water components of a suspension formed in an oil/water mixture wherein oil coats solid particles in the mixture to form an oil coated nucleus that is neutrally buoyant to form the suspension. A stream (146) of the suspension is passed through a hydrocyclone (147) wherein the oil is removed from the solids. The solids then pass with the water component through an underflow outlet (15) from the hydrocyclone (147) while the oil component is separately passed from an overflow outlet (145). Water may be added to the stream of the suspension prior to passage into the hydrocyclone (147). A pump (152) may be utilized to mix the added water upstream of the hydrocyclone (147).
