Solid sweetener compositions (including those in the form of solid foods) with a high degree of sweetness having sweetness characteristics ensuring uniform dispersion in the whole which contain one or more aspartyl dipeptide ester derivatives which are sweetener components having a high degree of sweetness (for example, N-[N-[3-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)propyl]-L-( alpha -aspartyl]-L-phenylalanine 1-methyl ester) together with fillers (including thickeners, carriers, etc.), in particular, at least one compound selected from among saccharides, sugar alcohols, oligosaccharides and polysaccharides and are produced by a process involving the step of mixing the above derivative(s) in the form of a solution. Solutions or suspensions capable of showing a high degree of sweetness over a long period of time which are obtained by uniformly dissolving or suspending at least one of the above-described aspartyl dipeptide ester derivatives having a high degree of sweetness in an edible medium, preferably together with at least one compound selected from among saccharides, sugar alcohols and oligosaccharides as a stabilizer. These solutions, etc. are useful as sweeteners in, for example, imparting sweetness to drinks and foods which have sweetness or are to be sweetened. Thus, liquid sweetener compositions showing a high degree of sweetness over a long period of time, which are excellent in solubility and workability without undergoing scattering, can be obtained.
