Machine (10) to make reinforced cages (11) provided with a plurality of longitudinal bars (12) distributed in groups, each comprising at least two longitudinal bars (12), and at least a metal round piece (13) welded in a spiral around said longitudinal bars (12). The machine (10) comprising a first rotating head (16) on which the longitudinal bars (12) are associated, and a second head (17) on which a welding device (31) is mounted, comprising a welding slider (37) movable transversely to the direction of formation of the reinforcement cage (11), welding members (40) to weld the metal round piece (13) to the longitudinal bars (12) of each group, and two stopping members (41, 42), each selectively movable between a first position in which it cooperates through contact with one of the longitudinal bars (12) of each group, and holds the welding members (40) in correspondence with a determinate one of the longitudinal bars (12), and a second position in which it does not interfere with the longitudinal bars (12) and allows the relative movement of the longitudinal bars (12) and the welding slider (37). The invention also relates to a method of making reinforced cages.
Abstract:
A method of forming a sealed joint between a tubular article (10) and a thin sheet article (14) wherein the articles (10, 14) are made of metallic materials that are capable of fusion welding together. One step in the method involves locating an end of the tubular article in a collar (20) surrounding a hole (12) formed in the thin sheet article (14). An end (22) of the tubular article (14) is positioned to lie substantially flush with a proximal end (24) of the collar (20). Next the ends (22, 24) of the collar and the tubular article are fusion welded forming a circumferential bead (26) creating an integral joint. Consequently in effect the previously separate a tubular article (10) and a thin sheet article (14) become a single piece.

Ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Herstellung eines Bandes (7), welches durch längsseitiges Verschweißen zumindest zweier einzelner Bänder (2, 3) hergestellt wird, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass Abschnitte der einzelnen Bänder vor dem Verschweißen in eine vertikale Richtung (III) umgelenkt werden, wobei die umgelenkten Abschnitte der Bänder (2, 3) in vertikaler Richtung (III) an einem Schweißkopf eines Schweißgerätes (6) vorbeigeführt und von diesem miteinander verschweißt werden.

Abstract:
A method of welding a ferritic stainless steel part to a carbon steel part is described. The method comprises arc welding (e.g. GTAW welding) the ferritic stainless steel part to the carbon steel part using a duplex stainless steel filler metal. Welded article made in this way is useful for industrial electrolyzers and particularly for corrosion resistant cathode and carrier plate assemblies in a sodium chlorate electrolyzer.

A sealing head for a strapping machine welds steel strapping material to itself in an end-to-end weld. The sealing head includes a body, a drive, an end grip at the inlet to the body, a cutter, a grip clamp and a loop grip downstream of the end grip. The loop grip is carried on a carriage that is movable in a direction along the strap path. A leading end of strap is secured by the end grip and a loop portion of the strap is gripped by the loop grip and severed by the cutter to form a loop end. The loop end is secured by the grip clamp. The loop grip carriage moves the loop end toward the leading end as current is passed though the loop end and the leading end to weld the ends to one another in an end-to-end weld.
