A method for nipping and cooling plastic sheet material and a multi-nip takeoff and cooling section having a first smoothing and a second smoothing roll. A position, calibration and cooling roll is positioned proximate to the second smoothing roll. The position, calibration and cooling roll is movable relative to the second smoothing roll. A first fixed calibration and cooling roll is positioned proximate the position, calibration and cooling roll. The first fixed calibration and cooling roll is in a fixed position relative to the second smoothing roll. A first movable calibration and cooling roll is positioned proximate the first fixed calibration and cooling roll The first movable calibration and cooling roll is movable relative to the first fixed calibration and cooling roll. Actuators cooperate with the position, calibration and cooling roll and the first movable cooling roll to provide both nip pressure and gap control.

Verfahren zum Formen und Kühlen einer zunächst heissen und daher fliessfähigen Käseschmeize (1), die über einen Zuführstutzen auf ein bewegtes metallisches Kühlband (3') aufgebracht wird, wobei mittels einer das Kühlband (3') beaufschlagenden Formwalze (5) mit in der Oberfläche befindlichen Formnestern (7) einzelne Formlinge (6) aus der Käseschmelze (1) geformt werden, wobei beim Formen ein Anpressdruck der Formwalze (5) gegen das Kühlband (3') vorgesehen wird, der eine vollständige Verdrängung der noch heißen Käseschmelze (1) aus dem Bereich der die einzelnen Formnester (7) begrenzenden und an dem Kühlband (3') anliegenden Trennstege (8) bewirkt, wobei die Formlinge (6) aus den Formnestern (7) ausgelöst und durch Verbleib auf dem bewegten Kühlband (3') gekühlt werden.

A halogen-free electrically insulating film is prepared from a composition including particular amounts of a poly(arylene ether), a hydrogenated block copolymer of an alkenyl aromatic compound and a conjugated diene, and a triaryl phosphate. The electrically insulating film may be prepared by an extrusion and/or calendering method. Uses of the electrically insulating film include, for example, shielding applications in power supply housing, printed circuit board insulation, bacldit aircraft in flight panels and displays, business equipment insulation, computer rack partitions, and television and monitor insulation.

Polyolefin block and graft copolymers comprised of two or more semicrystalline polyolefin blocks or grafts and one or more amorphous polyolefin blocks can be blended with a low molecular weight fluid diluent that preferentially locates within and swells the amorphous domains of the block or graft copolymer, while preserving the crystallinity of the semicrystalline block domains. After mechanical or thermomechanical processing, such compositions combine softness with high strength and high recoverable elasticity. Compositions are also disclosed whereby the diluent species is removed from the composition, either before or after the mechanical or thermomechanical processing, in order to create a strong elastic material with an ultra-low entanglement density within the amorphous domains.

The invention relates to a method and device for producing a reinforced socket on an extruded plastic tube made of thermoplastic material, preferably on a corrugated tube. According to the invention, the ends of the tube are provided with sockets located at predetermined section lengths. One end of the plastic tube or a section thereof is slid onto a supporting mandrel and, together with the supporting mandrel, is rotated about its longitudinal axis. During rotation, a plastic layer is extruded onto a pre-shaped socket area of the tube and/or onto the supporting mandrel whereby forming a reinforced socket that is shaped onto the tube.
