Neben der Verwendung von Generatoren, die eine vom Toleranzbereich der Grundfrequenz für eine bekannte Wechselspannungs-Schweißspannung abweichende Wechselspannung bereitstellen, zur Versorgung einer das Verfahren umsetzenden Vorrichtung, ist insbesondere die Verwendung einer Gleichspannung als Schweißspannung an der Heizwendel des Heizwendelfittings möglich. Bei dem Verfahren wird eine Schweißstrom-Versorgungseinheit über Anschlussleitungen und Verbindungselementen mit den Anschlusselementen eines Heizwendelfittings verbunden, elektrische Kenngrößen des Heizwendelfittings, insbesondere die Induktivität der Heizwendel des Heizwendelfittings, werden erfasst und anschließend basierend auf dem bekannten Effektivwert einer Wechselspannungs-Schweißspannung eine geeignete Schweißspannung bzw.
