Said control device comprises a) power restricting means (3), b) means (9) for setting a maximum heating power, said setting means (9) being connected to a control unit (4) which controls said power restricting means, c) means (6) for measuring the heating temperature, said means being connected to said control unit (4), the signal from said temperature measuring means (6) acting through said control unit (4) on said power restricting means (3) to continuously or in a plurality of steps, preferably at least 3 steps, which preferably are essentially of equal size, restrict the heating power when exceeding a particular, preselected temperature, and d) pulse control means (8) arranged for maintaining the heating power switched-on for an adjustable period of time during at least one continuous pulse period. The invention is also related to a process for hot working, preferably hot forming or welding plastics, with the aid of electric heating means for said hot working, especially resistance heating means, in which the feeding of electric heating power to said heating means is controlled for at least one continuous pulse period.
Abstract:
A sealing machine adapted to support a plurality of different heating/sealing/cutting mechanisms, including tubular heaters and heated cutting blades, is disclosed. The sealing machine utilizes a common interface and mounting system for all side sealers. In addition, in some embodiments, the control system within the sealing machine is adapted to monitor and control the temperature of these various mechanisms automatically so as to create proper seals.
Abstract:
Control system and apparatus for controlling current input to an electrical resistance element such as a seal wire. The system and apparatus of the present invention is a closed loop feedback modification to conventional systems, and takes advantage of the inherent expansion of the seal wire as it is heated. The feedback mechanism monitors both the actual current passing through the wire, and the length of the sealing wire, and adjusts the current applied to the wire, responsive to those monitored inputs. The usage of the sealing machine is also monitored and the application and amount of current flowing to the wire is varied based on this usage.
Abstract:
A method for establishing by means of heat treatment a weld or glue connection between two mutually adjacent surfaces of components, for instance tubes, using respectively an adhesive material, for instance plastic, more particularly epoxy resin, wherein heat is supplied round or close to the weld surfaces for connecting, wherein in order to measure the correct quantity of supplied heat and prior to the heat supply a test loop (10) is arranged round the weld provided with a temperature-sensitive interrupter (13) and an electric fuse (14) connected in parallel thereto, and after the interrupter has responded as a result of the correct temperature being reached after a predetermined time a current surge is passed through the safety fuse in the loop, so that it is possible to determine precisely whether the welding has been carried out for a sufficiently long time and with sufficient heat.
Abstract:
The following invention relates to a packaging machine with a sealing system comprising a front jaw and a rear jaw which reciprocate between an open-and a sealing-position, respectively, whereas a front jaw comprises two guide shafts which are supported in a frame.
Abstract:
The invention provides a wind turbine blade comprising a first shell (30), having a first bonding region, and a second shell (31) having a second bonding region, wherein the second bonding region of the second shell is bonded to the first bonding region of the first shell; and a temperature sensor (22) positioned between the first bonding region and the second bonding region. Having a temperature sensor (22) positioned within the turbine blade, in the region at which the two shells of the turbine blade are bonded together, allows for accurate determination and control of the temperature of the critical bonding regions during blade manufacture. The temperature sensor may be used during the service life of the wind turbine blade to detect delamination of the wind turbine blade.
Abstract:
Control system and apparatus for controlling current input to an electrical resistance element such as a seal wire (2). The system and apparatus of the present invention is a closed loop feedback modification to conventional systems, and takes advantage of the inherent expansion of the seal wire (2) as it is heated. The feedback mechanism monitors the length of the sealing wire, and adjusts the current applied to the wire, responsive to that monitored length. One end of an electric impulse element such as a seal wire (2) is fixed to the underside of a top jaw (20) with a wire tension block. The opposite moving or floating end of seal wire (2) is coupled to a seal wire pivot member (1) at wire terminal (10). A pivot member (1) is pivotally mounted on the top jaw (20) at pivot point (9) so that it moves in response to expansion and contration of the seal wire (2), depending upon the seal wire temperature. A detector actuator (3) in mounted to the seal wire pivot plate or block (1), and extends beyond the pivot member (1) towards detector (5).
