Abstract:
Product formed from a ceramic material, at least part of the said product not being formed from amorphous silica and comprising pores and satisfying the following criteria(a), (b) and (c): (a)at least 70% by number of the said pores are frustoconical tubular pores extending substantially parallel to each other in a longitudinal direction; (b)in at least one cross-section plane, the mean size of the cross sections of the said pores is greater than 0.15µm and less than 300µm; (c)in at least one cross-section plane, at least 50% by number of the pores have a convexity index Ic of greater than 87%, the convexity index of a pore being equal to the ratio Sp/Sc of the surfaces Sp and Sc delimited by the perimeter and by the convex envelope of the said pore, respectively.
Abstract:
The invention relates to filtering devices, in particular to the structural design of the filtering elements of disc ceramic filters and to methods for the production thereof. In order to increase the performance and the strength of a device, the inventive ceramic filtering element comprises a hollow block made of porous ceramic material whose inside elements are arranged in rows and offset along the arcs of a concentric circle and form with walls (4) a hollow volume (3). The ratio of the radius of the transition line between walls inside the hollow block (1) in the bottom part (6) of a sector element with respect to the radius of said interface line in the top part thereof rages from 0.5 to 0.75. An outlet fitting (7) is connected to the hollow block (1) with the aid of a screw joint provided with a seal (8). The inventive method for producing a ceramic filtering element consists in producing the replication thereof of a mixture of paraffin hydrocarbons, forming a porous blank by compaction and using vibration load, and, in order to protect environment, in removing the material of said replication at a temperature below the inflammability point of paraffin hydrocarbons.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a filter element and its manufacture to be used in removal of liquid from solids containing material to be dried in a capillary suction dryer which filter element contains a ceramic microporous layer having the pore size under 5 micrometer and supported by a ceramic internal layer having recess areas (2) for liquid flowing. The internal layer is made of at least one substrate (1) which continuously surrounds at least one recess area and which ceramic internal layer is surrounded by at least one essentially continuous microporous surface layer(3).
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for preparing a ceramic material, in particular porcelain, having a porous, foam-like structure, comprising the steps of providing a clay composition comprising kaolinclay; alkali metal salt and/or alkaline earth metal salt, or a mixture thereof; a plastic mineral clay; and a frit; and water;shaping said composition in a mould; drying said composition in said mould by subjecting it to temperatures below 140 °C;firing said composition in said mould by subjecting it to temperatures within the range of 700-1200 °C. The invention also pertains to objects made of this foamed ceramic material.
