The present invention describes a Pd-catalyst, further consisting of La, Ti, Nb, K or Si, which have high ethylene selectivity even after a low temperature reduction in the se-lective hydrogenation of acetylene to ethylene and the production method of the same. A catalyst of the invention consists essentially of 0.05 to 2.0% by weight, based on the supported catalyst, of palladium and one or two metals chosen form the group consist-ing of lanthanum, niobium, titanium, potassium and silicon. The said catalyst is pre-pared by the following procedure: 1) Impregnating a support in aqueous solution of tetra amine palladium hydroxide, followed by drying and calcination; 2) The second and, if necessary, a third metal is impregnated by impregnating the Pd-catalyst in the solution of the metal precursor followed by drying and calcina-tion; 3) The catalyst according to step (2) is then reduced in hydrogen at 200°C to 600°C for 1 to 5 hours.

This invention is for a catalyst for conversion of hydrocarbons. The catalyst contains a zeolite having germanium and at least one selected from the group consisting of tin and boron incorporated into the zeolite framework and at least one metal selected from Group 10 deposited on the zeolite. The catalyst is prepared by synthesizing a zeolite having germanium and at least one selected from the group consisting of tin and boron incorporated into the zeolite framework; depositing the metal; and calcining after preparation of the zeolite and before or after depositing the metal. The catalyst may be used in a process for the conversion of hydrocarbons, such as propane to aromatics, by contacting the catalyst with alkanes having 2 to 12 carbon atoms per molecule and recovering the product.

The present invention relates to a bifunctional catalyst for a hydrogenation dewaxing process with improved isomerization selectivity and to a method for manufacturing same, and more particularly to a bifunctional catalyst and to a method for manufacturing same, which is characterized in that EU-2 zeolite with a controlled degree of phase transformation is used as a carrier having an acid site. The EU-2 zeolite, the degree of phase transformation of which is controlled, includes, by controlling synthesis parameters of EU-2, predetermined amounts of materials that are phase-transformed from EU-2 crystals such as cristobalite and quartz. The metal-containing bifunctional catalyst according to the present invention improves selectivity of the isomerization process, rather than a cracking reaction, during a conversion reaction of n-hexadecane. Therefore, the bifunctional catalyst can be widely used as a catalyst for a dewaxing process such as lubricant base oil and diesel oil.

A process for preparing a layered catalyst for selectively hydrogenating C 5 -C 11 diolefins in a hydrocarbon mixture to one or more respective C 5 -C 11 monoolefins is disclosed. The layered catalyst comprises an inner core having a first inorganic oxide and an outer layer bonded to the inner core. The outer layer has a non-refractory second inorganic oxide with at least one Group 1-2 metal and at least one Group 8-10 metal dispersed thereon. The catalyst is prepared by coating the inner core with a slurry of the second inorganic oxide, depositing the metals in the presence of a liquid phase, drying the coated core and calcining at 400 - 900°C for a time sufficient to bond the outer layer to eth inner core. The calcined catalyst is reduced under reducing conditions.
