The invention relates to a polyglycerol derivative, comprising a dendritic polyglycerol backbone and at least one substituent in the nature of a covalently bound negatively charged group chosen from the group consisting of sulfates, sulfonates, phosphates, phosphonates, bisphosphonates, carboxylates and combinations thereof. The polyglycerol derivative is characterized in that the substituent is bound to the polyglycerol backbone via a linker, the linker being chosen from the group consisting of moieties being or comprising a carbamate group, an ester group, an orthoester group, an amide group, a disulfide bridge group, an acetal group, an imine group and combinations thereof. The invention also relates to uses of such a polyglycerol derivative and to a method of manufacturing the same.

The present invention provides a product and a manufacturing process for an aqueous dispersible dendritic polymer with various functionalities, and polymer compositions and polymer formulations comprising such a dendritic polymer. The aqueous dispersible dendritic polymer composition comprises a hydrophilic functional group to allow dispersion in aqueous solvents and improve washability of the polymer, a low surface tension functional group to impart resistance to dirt pick-up and optionally, a curable functional group to allow superior cross-linking capabilities and optionally, a softening functional group to impart flexibility to the composition.

Subject of the present invention are polyether polyol dendron conjugates comprising a specific polyether polyol dendron moiety, at least one certain fluorescent effector molecule (E). Such polyether polyol dendron conjugates may be used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, whereby the optical properties of the at least one certain fluorescent effector molecule are enhanced due to the attachment to the polyether polyol dendron conjugate.

The present invention relates to a macromolecule comprising a dendrimer having surface amino groups to which at least one platinum-containing moiety is attached. In particular embodiments, the macromolecule has a plurality of platinum-containing moieties attached to the surface amino groups. In another particular embodiment, the macromolecule comprises a dendrimer having surface amino groups to which at least two different moieties are attached, a first moiety being a platinum-containing moiety and the second moiety being a pharmacokinetic modifying agent or targeting agent.
