Abstract:
The invention provides for processes to produce elastomeric compositions, the processes including contacting at least one elastomer with a processing aid, wherein the processing aid comprises at least one functionalized polymer having at least one anhydride group. The invention also provides for articles such as innerliners for tires produced from the aforementioned elastomeric compositions.
Abstract:
A resin composition for agricultural films which is obtained by compounding 100 parts by weight of a synthetic resin (A) with the following amount of the following polymeric stabilizer (B). Polymeric stabilizer (B): an adduct obtained by causing a polymer (b2) having a molecular weight of 300 or higher to add a compound (b1) represented by general formula (I). Amount: such an amount that the amount of the nitrogen atoms contained in the polymeric stabilizer (B) to be added is 0.0005 to 1 part by weight. (In the formula, n is an integer of 1 to 4; X represents -O- or -NH-; and R represents hydrogen or C1-20 aliphatic acyl, aliphatic polyvalent acyl, aromatic acyl, or aromatic polyvalent acyl).
Abstract:
It is herein disclosed a composite system consisting essentially of a polyketone polymer and an aminated polyolefin, produced by reacting a polyolefin with excess diamine to form an imide with a free primary amine, and causing the primary amine to react with a polyketone chain to form a pyrrole. These reactions can occur during inter alia a co-extrusion hot coating application or blending process. In all cases, compatibilization is achieved by the formation of polyketone/polyolefin graft copolymers at the interface of the polymers.
Abstract:
A heterophasic polymer composition comprises a propylene polymer phase, an ethylene polymer phase, and a compatibilizing agent. The compatibilizing agent comprises (i) at least one tertiary carbon-hydrogen bond having a bond-dissociation energy of about 380 kJ/mol or less and (ii) at least one acyclic carbon-carbon double bond. A method of making a heterophasic polyolefin polymer composition comprises the steps of (a) providing a propylene polymer phase and an ethylene polymer phase, (b) providing a compatibilizing agent, and (c) mixing the propylene polymer phase, the ethylene polymer phase and the compatibilizing agent, in the presence of free carbon radicals. The compatibilizing agent reacts with propylene polymers and ethylene polymers thereby bonding propylene polymers to ethylene polymers.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an injection-molded article for a packaging material and an injection-molded article for an automotive part each comprising an olefin resin composition and each being excellent in the balance between rigidity and impact resistance, and a food packaging film and an industrial film each comprising an olefin resin composition and each being excellent in rigidity and impact resistance. Provided is the injection-molded article that comprises an olefin resin composition comprising an olefin resin (A) represented by the following formula (1) or the following formula (2), and an olefin resin (B) represented by the following formula (3) or (4).
Abstract:
The invention relates to self-cured thermoplastic vulcanizates comprising a thermoplastic and a vulcanized elastomer, such as butyl rubber. More particularly, the invention relates to cured thermoplastic vulcanizates wherein the elastomer phase is based on self-curing or self-cured azidobutyl rubber. The thermoplastic vulcanizates are useful in the preparation of shaped articles for high purity applications, such as condenser caps, medical components and fuel cell components as well as tire inner liners.
Abstract:
A polyamide composition comprises a polyamide, an anhydride-functional copolymer reactive with the polyamide, and a poly (ethylene-co-methacrylic acid) ionomer. A pneumatic tire assembly includes an inner liner which is formed from the polyamide composition. The inner liner comprises the reaction product of the polyamide and the anhydride-functional copolymer, as well as the (ethylene-co-methacrylic acid) ionomer.
