Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a catalyst comprising a reaction product of (i) an aldehyde; and (ii) a metal salt of an aminocarboxylic acid. The catalyst may be used in the preparation of polyurethane or polyisocyanurate foam.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and composition regeneration of an aminal that has previously been reacted with a sulfide selected from hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans. The method includes contacting a scavenging mixture which includes an aminal, and an oxidation catalyst with a gas such as air, oxygen enriched air, oxygen, ozone enriched air and ozone. The composition includes an aminal, and an oxidation catalyst. The method and composition are useful for the regeneration of an aminal base sulfur scavenging compound.
Abstract:
Process for the preparation of an N-acyl amino carboxylic acid by means of a carboxymethylation reaction. In this reaction, a reaction mixture is formed which contains a base pair, carbon monoxide, hydrogen and an aldehyde with the base pair conprising a carbamoyl compound and a carboxymethylation catalyst precursor. In a preferred embodiment, the carbamoyl compound and aldehyde are selected to yield an N-acyl amino carboxylic acid which is readily converted to N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine, or a salt or ester thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to compounds represented by the formula (I): wherein R1 comprises a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 2 carbon atoms. wherein R2 comprises an alkylene group, an arylene group, or a heterocyclic group. The three R2 groups may be the same or different. wherein A comprises an alkyl, an aryl, or an alkylaryl group. The three A groups may be the same or different.39
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to compounds represented by the formula I: wherein R1comprises a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 2 carbon atoms; wherein R2 comprises an alkylene group, an arylene group, or a heterocyclic group; and wherein R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, and R8 are identical or different and comprise a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, or an alkylaryl group.
Abstract:
Method for detecting metals in a liquid are described. The liquid is contacted with a hexahydrotriazine and/or a hemiaminal material, and a UV absorption spectrum of the material before and after exposure to the liquid is examined to determine whether metals are present in the liquid.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An acid gas absorbent comprising a metal sulfonate, phosphonate or carboxylate of a hindered amine and a process for the selective removal Of H2S as well as other acidic components such as carbon disulfide, carbonyl sulfide and oxygen and sulfur derivatives of C1 to C4 hydrocarbons from mixtures containing such acidic components and CO2 using said absorbent.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a process for preparing a trimer by the steps of: (a) cyclotrimerizing a polyisocyanate in the presence of a polymer-bound trimerization catalyst by contacting said polyisocyanate with said catalyst at a temperature of between about 20 and about 135 °C in a reaction to form an isocyanurate-containing cyclotrimerized isocyanate wherein a portion of the isocyanate moieties comprising said polyisocyanate are converted to isocyanurate groups, and (b) separating said catalyst from said cyclotrimerized isocyanate in order to stop said reaction after a desired amount of isocyanate moieties in said polyisocyanate have been converted to isocyanurate moieties.
Abstract:
Method and apparatus for controlling metals in a liquid are described. The liquid is contacted with a hexahydrotriazine and/or a hemiaminal material, and metal is adsorbed from the liquid onto the material. The hexahydrotriazine and/or hemiaminal material may be made from a diamine and an aldehyde.
