Abstract:
A method for driving a vehicle in which a gearbox connected to a combustion engine can be set to various different transmission ratios including a low transmission ratio in which the engine speed is below that at which a torque plateau for the low ratio is reached. The vehicle may drive in a first mode or a second mode both at the low ratio, such that in the first mode, the vehicle is driven without fuel supply to the engine and in the second mode, the engine is provided with fuel supply in order to deliver motive force for propulsion of the vehicle. In the method one determines whether the vehicle should be driven according to the first mode or the second mode, based on a need for motive force.
Abstract:
A method for control of a vehicle's gearbox which is connected to a combustion engine and can be set to a number of different transmission ratios. When the vehicle is running in a low transmission ratio and at an engine speed below that at which the torque plateau for the low ratio is reached, in a situation where there is a reduced need for power output to propel the vehicle, determine a speed parameter for the vehicle, switch the gearbox to a higher transmission ratio than the low ratio when the speed parameter fulfils a first criterion.
Abstract:
To improve the drivability of a driver while performing an output restriction. A hybrid automobile is structured which has an output restriction control unit that releases or restores an output restriction in accordance with a predetermined operation by the driver, and a predetermined release rate or a predetermined restoration rate can be set for the release or the restoration of the output restriction.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for driving of a vehicle in which a gearbox connected to a combustion engine can be set to various different transmission ratios and is settable to a low transmission ratio in which the engine speed is below that at which the torque plateau for said low ratio is reached. The vehicle is adapted to driving in a first mode and a second mode at said low ratio, such that in said first mode the vehicle is driven without fuel supply to said engine and in said second mode said engine is provided with fuel supply in order to deliver motive force for propulsion of said vehicle. The method comprises determining whether the vehicle should be driven according to said first mode or said second mode, on the basis of a need for motive force.
Abstract:
Exemplary methods, systems and components enable selective control of an operational mode for a vehicle that is subject to an administrative standard. In some instances a qualified person or entity may attain a preferred consequential result related to a selected vehicle operation mode that may involve a vehicle operation paradigm and/or a vehicle travel route and/or a vehicle travel destination. In some embodiments, implementation of the selected vehicle operation mode may modify a conformity status of the vehicle relative to the administrative standard. Various accessible records may be maintained regarding administrative compliance states and their respective benefits, as well as regarding certification of preferable consequential results available to qualified recipients based on a correlated vehicle operational mode.
Abstract:
A control system and method for a vehicle having an engine and a transmission with an autoshift function comprises a processor coupled to the engine and the transmission of the vehicle and adapted to control the power output of said engine and, in an autoshift mode of operation, the upshifting and downshifting of the transmission. The control system further comprises user interface means (10) coupled to said processor and including a first manual control means (14) being operable to be set to a first engine speed, and a second manual control means (16) being operable to be set to a second engine speed. The interface means (10) provides signals representing the setting of said first and second manual control means (14, 16) to said processor; and said control system has a plurality of modes of operation selectable by the relative settings of said first and second manual control means.
Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to ensure the output of a desirable power without causing the fluctuations of engine revolution speed against the operator's intention. An engine-driven machine (1) having plural kinds of load devices driven by an engine (101) is provided with a load torque calculation unit (1201) that calculates a present load torque applied to the engine (101) from a load device of at least one kind, and a control unit (1203) that performs variable control of a maximum output characteristic of the engine (101) in accordance with the calculated load torque, such that a maximum output torque that can be outputted by the engine (101) at the present engine revolution speed becomes a maximum output torque that is equal to or greater than the calculated load torque.
