Abstract:
The present invention relates to mixtures comprising a hydrophilic and at least one hydrophobic ionic liquid, to the use thereof as a working fluid in liquid ring compressors and to a corresponding method.
Abstract:
Disclosed are phosphate ester base fluids and aircraft hydraulic fluids containing a novel combination of phosphate ester components. The disclosed aircraft hydraulic fluids contain from about 30 to about 45 weight percent, based on the total weight of the fluid, of tri-iso-butyl phosphate; from about 30 to about 45 weight percent, based on the total weight of the fluid, of tri-n-butyl phosphate; from about 10 to about 15 weight percent, based on the total weight of the fluid, of one or more triaryl phosphates; and an effective amount of a viscosity index improver, an acid control additive and an erosion inhibitor.
Abstract:
A phosphazene compound of the formula (1) which has an arrangement such that perfluoroxyalkylene units selected from -CF2O- and -CF2CF2O- are randomly distributed, the compound having a functional terminal group A A-OCH2CF2O(CF2CF2O)p(CF2O)qCF2CH2O-A wherein A is a group of the formula (a) shown below, R is a hydrogen atom, C1-4 alkyl, C1-4 alkoxy, C1-4 haloalkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, aryloxy or substituted aryloxy, and p and q are a real number of 1 to 30, and a lubricant containing the compound.
Abstract:
A functional fluid that is particularly useful as an aircraft hydraulic fluid is provided. The fluid contains a major amount of an organo/phosphate ester base stock; based on the total weight of the fluid of from about 0.5 to 10 wt % of certain alkoxylated polyether amines and from about 4 to about 20 wt % of auxiliary additives selected from the group consisting essentially of antioxidants, VI improvers, rust inhibitors, erosion inhibitors and defoamers.

wherein A is a group of the formula (a) shown below, R is a hydrogen atom, C 1-4 alkyl, C 1-4 alkoxy, C 1-4 haloalkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, aryloxy or substituted aryloxy, and p and q are a real number of 1 to 30, and a lubricant containing the compound.
Abstract:
Iron-based metallurgical powder compositions are produced by mixing iron-based powder with an improved binder/lubricant that comprises dibasic organic acid and one or more additional components such as solid polyethers, liquid polyethers, and acrylic resin. These novel binder/lubricants impart one or more enhanced green properties to the powder compositions and reduce the ejection force required to remove the compositions from molds and dies.
Abstract:
A lubricating oil comprising an add mixture of the following components: (A) a complex alcohol ester basestock which comprises the reaction product of an add mixture of the following: (1) a polyhydroxyl compound represented by the general formula:R(OH)nwherein R is any aliphatic or cyclo-aliphatic hydrocarbyl group and n is at least 2, provided that the hydrocarbyl group contains from about 2 to 20 carbon atoms; (2) a polybasic acid or an anhydride of a polybasic acid, provided that the ratio of equivalents of the polybasic acid to equivalents of alcohol from the polyhydroxyl compound is in the range between about 1.6:1 to 2:1; and (3) a monohydric alcohol, provided that the ratio of equivalents of the monohydric alcohol to equivalents of the polybasic acid is in the range between about 0.84:1 to 1.2:1; wherein the complex alcohol ester exhibits a viscosity in the range between about 100-700 cSt at 40 DEG C. and having a polybasic acid ester concentration of less than or equal to 70 wt. %, based on the complex alcohol ester; and (B) at least one additional basestock.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an aircraft hydraulic fluid comprising a novel combination of additives and organic phosphate basestocks which provides excellent results in scavenging acid generated by the partial esters of phosphoric acid, in controlling erosion in the formulation and in reducing electrodeposited solids.
