摘要:
The devices and methods described herein relate to improved structures for removing obstructions from body lumens. Such devices have applicability in through-out the body, including clearing of blockages within the vasculature, by addressing the frictional resistance on the obstruction prior to attempting to translate and/or mobilize the obstruction within the body lumen

Device, systems and methods are provided to isolate aneurysms, particularly at bifurcations, while maintaining adequate blood flow through nearby vessels. These devices are deliverable to a desired target area and maintain position in a desired orientation so as to occlude flow in some aspect while allowing flow in others. In addition, devices, systems and methods are provided to occlude blood vessels, such as endoleaks, to improve the isolation of aneurysms.

A liner is advanced through a narrowed region in a vessel such as the internal carotid artery. The liner is advanced through the narrowed region in a collapsed position. A stent is then advanced through the liner and expanded to open the narrowed region. The liner may also have an anchor, which expands an end of the liner before the stent is introduced.

The methods, devices, and systems are provided for performing endovascular repair of atrioventricular and other cardiac valves in the heart. Regurgitation of an atrioventricular valve, particularly a mitral valve, can be repaired by modifying a tissue structure selected from the valve leaflets, the valve annulus, the valve chordae, and the papillary muscles. These structures may be modified by suturing, stapling, snaring, or shortening, using interventional tools which are introduced to a heart chamber. Preferably, the tissue structures will be temporarily modified prior to permanent modification. For example, opposed valve leaflets may be temporarily grasped and held into position prior to permanent attachment.

The invention is also directed to a device for treating an aneurysm which has a cover covering the neck of the aneurysm and a lateral portion extending into the aneurysm. The invention is also directed to a cover which is used to cover the neck of the aneurysm thereby isolating the aneurysm from the parental vessel.

A system for treating a vascular malformation has an expandable device and a heating device for heating and shrinking the malformation. The expandable device may have deformable elements which plastically deform in the expanded position. The balloon may be self-expanding, balloon expanded or expanded with an actuating rod. A fluid, such as saline, may be introduced during heating when using RF heating. A sealant may also be introduced into the expandable device to further seal the aneurysm.

A device for treating vascular malformations includes a primary coil and secondary windings. The primary coil provides resilience and structural integrity while the secondary windings fill interstitial spaces in the primary coil to isolate the vascular malformation. The device may have increased density along a central portion to isolate the malformation. In another aspect, the device may have a central opening through which embolic materials may be delivered.

An implant for treating brain aneurysms, especially terminal aneurysms, comprises a neck cover and elongate shaft removably secured to an embolic delivery catheter. As such, the shaft aids in directing and placing the cover at the aneurysm neck, protecting the delivery catheter from adhesion with the embolic material, and securing the cover in place with connection or adhesion of the shaft to the embolic material delivered through the catheter. The implant can be anchored at the aneurysm either by interface and/or adhesion of the shaft or shaft and cover with the resident embolic materials.
