Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus is configured to monitor for a notification of MCCH information change associated with an MBSFN area without having previously performed an MCCH information acquisition procedure to acquire MCCH information in the MBSFN area. Furthermore, the apparatus is configured to acquire the MCCH information while monitoring for the notification of the MCCH information change that indicates a change of MCCH information.
Abstract:
A method to assist gel analysis and processing and apparatus for the same is disclosed. The method employs a tracing/marking/measuring/analyzing and referencing template of transparent sheet material comprising of a pattern made of vertical and horizontal lines that form quadrilateral shapes upon intersection. The vertical and horizontal lines are clearly visible in white light and ultraviolet light. The template sheet(s) can be inserted in a square shaped template holding assembly (70) which is used in between a UV trans-illuminator (56) and a macromolecule resolving gel matrix (54) such as agarose or polyacrylamide gels. The template pattern can be made on one sheet of transparent material or separate sheets may contain vertical and horizontal lines and the finalized pattern can be achieved by inserting all the separate sheets in the template holding assembly. Under the UV light from UV trans-illuminator by adjusting the sheets containing vertical lines (13) according to the gel matrix's lanes (32d, 32e, 32f) and horizontal lines (17) according to the area of interest for further analysis and processing, the adjusted pattern of lines (13) and (17) can be used as a reference even in the absence of UV light.
Abstract:
A coated article is provided with at least one functional layer, such as an infrared (IR) reflecting layer(s) of or including silver and/or gold. A dielectric and substantially transparent seed layer is provided under and directly contacting the functional layer. In certain example embodiments, the seed layer includes an oxide of zinc and boron for increasing the hardness of the layer and thus improving durability of the overall coating. The seed layer may further include aluminum and/or gallium, for enhancing the electrical properties and/or reducing the stress in the resulting coating. The seed layer may be deposited by a substantially metallic target in the presence of oxygen in certain examples.
Abstract:
A coated article is provided so as to include a solar control coating having an infrared (IR) reflecting layer and a breaker layer, one or both of which may be of or include a material such as NiCr, NiCrNx, NbCr, NbCrNx, NbZr, NbZrNx, Nb and/or NbNx. Each of the IR reflecting layer and the breaker layer is sandwiched between at least a pair of dielectric layers of a material such as silicon nitride or the like. In certain example embodiments of this invention, the IR reflecting layer is substantially thicker than the breaker layer. Such coated articles may be used in the context of windows such as monolithic or IG windows, and may optionally be heat treated (e.g., thermally tempered) in certain instances and may be substantially thermally stable.
Abstract:
Certain example embodiments relate to Ni-inclusive ternary alloy being provided as a barrier layer for protecting an IR reflecting layer comprising silver or the like. The provision of a barrier layer comprising nickel, chromium, and/or molybdenum and/or oxides thereof may improve corrosion resistance, as well as chemical and mechanical durability. In certain examples, more than one barrier layer may be used on at least one side of the layer comprising silver. In still further examples, a NixCryMoz-based layer may be used as the functional layer, rather than or in addition to as a barrier layer, in a coating.

Abstract:
A coated article is provided which may be heat treated (e.g., thermally tempered) and/or heat bent in certain example instances. In certain example embodiments, a zinc stannate based layer is provided between a tin oxide based layer and a silicon nitride based layer, and this has been found to significantly reduce undesirable mottling damage upon heat treatment/bending. This results in significantly improved bendability of the coated article in applications such as vehicle windshields and the like.
Abstract:
Overexpression of prolyl endopeptidase (PEP) activity in the brain was found to be linked with neurodegenerative disorders, and the memory loss caused by amnesic compounds can be restored by PEP inhibitors. In the current intervention, the PEP inhibitory activity of trans-anethole ((E)-1-Methoxy-4-(1-propenyl)benzene), an essential oil that is naturally occurring in Illicium verum (star anise) has been assessed. More specifically, the present invention relates to finding of a potent inhibitor of prolyl endopeptidase (Trans-Anethole ((E)-1-Methoxy-4-(1-propenyl)benzene).
Abstract:
Certain example embodiments relate to a coated article including at least one infrared (IR) reflecting layer of a material such as silver or the like in a low-E coating, and methods of making the same. In certain cases, at least one layer of the coating is of or includes nickel and/or titanium (e.g., NixTiyOz). The provision of a layer including nickel titanium and/or an oxide thereof may permit a layer to be used that has good adhesion to the IR reflecting layer, and reduced absorption of visible light (resulting in a coated article with a higher visible transmission). When a layer including nickel titanium oxide is provided directly over and/or under the IR reflecting layer (e.g., as a barrier layer), this may result in improved chemical and mechanical durability. Thus, visible transmission may be improved if desired, without compromising durability; or, durability may simply be increased.
Abstract:
A coated article is provided so as to include a low-E (low emissivity) coating having an infrared (IR) reflecting layer(s) of or including a material such as silver (Ag), which is provided between a pair of contact layers. The low-E coating includes an overcoat having at least one layer of or including zirconium oxide and/or a substantially metallic layer. The overcoat has been found to improve the durability of the coating without significantly sacrificing desired optical characteristics. Such coated articles may be used in the context of windows.
