Abstract: The present disclosure provides a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst composition prepared from a first un-promoted zeolite having a first silica-to-alumina ratio (SAR) from about 5 to about 100, a promoter precursor, and a second un-promoted zeolite having a second silica-to-alumina ratio (SAR) from about 5 to about 100. The present disclosure further provides a method of forming the SCR catalyst composition, a catalytic article comprising the SCR catalyst composition, an engine exhaust gas treatment system comprising the SCR catalyst composition, and a method of removing nitrogen oxides from exhaust gas from a lean burn engine using the SCR catalyst composition.

Abstract: Certain selective catalytic reduction (SCR) articles, systems and methods provide for high NOx conversion while at the same time low N2O formation. The articles, systems and methods are suitable for instance for the treatment of exhaust gas of diesel engines. Certain articles have zoned coatings containing copper-containing molecular sieves disposed thereon, where for example a concentration of catalytic copper in an upstream zone is lower than the concentration of catalytic copper in a downstream zone.

Abstract: Zeolite catalysts and systems and methods for preparing and using zeolite catalysts having the CHA crystal structure are disclosed. The catalysts can be used to remove nitrogen oxides from a gaseous medium across a broad temperature range and exhibit hydrothermal stable at high reaction temperatures. The zeolite catalysts include a zeolite carrier having a silica to alumina ratio from about 15:1 to about 256:1 and a copper to alumina ratio from about 0.25:1 to about 1:1.

Abstract: Described are exhaust gas treatment systems for treatment of a gasoline engine exhaust gas stream. The exhaust gas treatment systems comprise an ammonia generating and hydrocarbon oxidation catalyst, a TWC catalyst, and an ammonia selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst downstream of the TWC catalyst. The ammonia generating and hydrocarbon oxidation catalyst comprises a refractory metal oxide support, a platinum component, and a palladium component. The ammonia generating and hydrocarbon oxidation catalyst is substantially free of ceria and substantially free of NOx storage components. The platinum and palladium components are present in a platinum to palladium ratio of greater than about 1 to 1.

Abstract: A layered catalyst composite for the treatment of exhaust gas emissions, effective to provide lean NOx trap functionality and three-way conversion functionality is described. Layered catalyst composites can comprise catalytic material on a substrate, the catalytic material comprising at least two layers. The first layer comprising rare earth oxide-high surface area refractory metal oxide particles, an alkaline earth metal supported on the rare earth oxide-high surface area refractory metal oxide particles, and at least one first platinum group metal component supported on the rare earth oxide-high surface area refractory metal oxide particles. The second layer comprising a second platinum group metal component supported on a first oxygen storage component (OSC) and/or a first refractory metal oxide support and, optionally, a third platinum group metal supported on a second refractory metal oxide support or a second oxygen storage component.

Abstract: An emissions treatment system for an exhaust stream of an internal combustion engine including hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides is provided. The disclosed system can include an exhaust conduit in fluid communication with the internal combustion engine via an exhaust manifold; a first three-way conversion catalyst (TWC-1) located downstream of the internal combustion engine in the exhaust conduit; an SCR-HCT catalyst comprising a selective catalytic reduction catalyst and a hydrocarbon trap downstream of the TWC-1 in the exhaust conduit; and a third catalyst downstream of the SCR-HCT combination in the exhaust conduit, the third catalyst comprising a platinum group metal (PGM) e.g., in an amount effective to oxidize hydrocarbons. Methods of making and using such systems and components thereof are also provided.

Abstract: A catalyst for the treatment of exhaust gas emissions is disclosed. The catalyst can comprise ceria-alumina particles having a ceria phase present in a weight percent of the composite in the range of about 20% to about 80% on an oxide basis, an alkaline earth metal component supported on the ceria-alumina particles, wherein the CeO2 is present in the form of crystallites that are hydrothermally stable and have an average crystallite size less than 160 Å after aging at 950° C. for 5 hours in 2% O2 and 10% steam in N2.
