    摘要: In an ignition system for an internal combustion engine in which the flow of a primary winding energizing current is switched on and off in synchronism with the rotation of the engine and a high voltage is induced in the secondary winding upon switching off of the energizing current, an energizing current is supplied again at around the top dead center of each cylinder and then decreased gradually and interrupted in accordance with a sawtooth waveform whose voltage attains a predetermined potential at around the top dead center and then decreases gradually.

    摘要: A multi-gap spark ignition device to be installed in a spark ignition engine, is disclosed. The device comprises a metallic base member provided with a hole which forms one portion of the combustion chamber of the engine. Within the wall defining the hole, a high voltage electrode, a plurality of intermediate electrodes and an earth electrode are embedded at regular intervals so that each end of the electrodes project into the hole to form a plurality of spark gaps between the adjacent ends of the electrodes. Each of the intermediate electrodes is composed of an electrode member and an insulating member for covering one end of the electrode member, and is closely inserted into a groove formed in one end surface of the base member along the hole thereof at regular intervals. By making the stray electrostatic capacity between the base member and the opposed electrode member of each intermediate electrode larger than the electrostatic capacity between the adjacent electrode members, the required voltage can be maintained small irrespective of the number of the intermediate electrodes.

    摘要: An ignition system for internal combustion engines of the type in which after the energizing current flow to the primary winding of an ignition coil has been interrupted and an ignition spark generating high voltage has been produced in the secondary winding, the primary winding is energized again to interrupt the ignition spark. The ignition spark is interrupted at around the TDC only when the engine is at high speed operating conditions and the deenergizing current in the primary winding is not interrupted in a moment but decreased gradually. Also, the ignition spark is interrupted only when the ignition spark is to continue beyond the top dead center.

    摘要: In an EGR control system for a diesel engine, the EGR amount is controlled by controlling the pressure in a diaphragm chamber of an EGR valve using the output signal of a computer, responsive to signals from a plurality of engine running condition sensors, for calculating the EGR amount with corrections according to the engine running conditions and the excess air rate. In some cases, the EGR is carried out only when the rotational speed of the engine is higher than a predetermined rotational speed. Also, in some cases, the EGR is carried out when an occurrence of idling is detected, even if the rotational speed of the engine is lower than the predetermined rotational speed.

A control circuit is responsive to the detected throttle signal as well as the signals from other negative pressure and engine rpm sensors to generate a spark plug discharge start signal and a discharge stop signal.
