摘要: A retriever device for removal of unwanted material from a vessel in a patient's body comprising a retriever sub-system and an aspiration sub-system. The retriever sub-system comprising a delivery catheter and a delivery wire having first and second expandable bodies disposed thereon that are adapted to expand from a pre-expansion configuration to an expanded configuration. The second expandable body is further adapted to slidably translate along the delivery wire in a distal direction toward the first expandable body when the second expandable body is released from the delivery wire, whereby, when the first expandable body is disposed on a distal side of at least a first portion of the unwanted material in the vessel and the second expandable body is disposed on a proximal side of the first portion of the unwanted material, the first expandable body and the second expandable body surround and contain the first portion of the unwanted material between the first expandable body and the second expandable body. The aspiration sub-system is adapted to remove at least a second portion of the unwanted material from the vessel. The aspiration sub-system also includes a pressure sensor adapted to monitor internal vessel pressure proximate an internal region of the vessel.

摘要: Various embodiments of the systems, methods and devices are provided for breaking up calcified lesions in an anatomical conduit. More specifically, an electrical arc is generated between two spaced-apart electrodes disposed within a fluid-filled balloon, creating a subsonic pressure wave. In some embodiments, the electrodes comprise a plurality of points or extensions that allow the electrical arc to form at any one of the plurality of points to, among other things, extend the electrode life.

摘要: A method for closing a wound in a tubular organ using a suture thread introduced into the tubular organ, includes: inflating the tubular organ by supplying gas into the tubular organ; resecting a lesion while the tubular organ is inflated, so that the wound is formed; deflating the tubular organ by discharging gas from the tubular organ; passing the suture thread through a tissue around the wound; and gathering the tissue around the wound by pulling the suture thread passing through the tissue while the tubular organ is deflated.

摘要: The present invention refers to a catheter (1) comprising a catheter shaft (2), a flexible moving element (3) and a surgical tool (5) connected to the flexible moving element (3). The catheter shaft (2) extends along a longitudinal axis (500) and comprises a flexible moving element receiving lumen (21) defined by a catheter shaft wall (24). The flexible moving element (3) is arranged in the flexible moving element receiving lumen (21) in such a way that the flexible moving element (3) is at least circumferentially supported by the catheter shaft wall (24) so that a movement of the flexible moving element (3) in a direction from a proximal shaft end (29) of the catheter shaft (2) to a distal shaft end (28) of the catheter shaft (2) causes a movement of the surgical tool (5).

摘要: The invention relates to a balloon catheter device (1) for use in an aorta of a rabbit or a human being. The device (1) comprises a balloon catheter (2), a syringe (3), an actuator (4), a pressure sensor (5), a balloon retracting unit (6), a first control unit (7) and a second control unit (8). The balloon catheter (2) comprises a flexible tube (10) and a balloon (11) at a distal end (12) of the tube (10) and the syringe (3) comprises a chamber (16) containing a fluid, wherein the chamber (16) is connected to a proximal end of the tube (10). The actuator (4) is adapted for increasing/decreasing a volume of the fluid contained within the balloon (11). The pressure sensor (5) is adapted for sensing an inflation pressure of the balloon (11) and the balloon retracting unit (6) is adapted for retracting the balloon (11) out of the aorta. The first control unit (7) is adapted to receive pressure data representing the inflation pressure of the balloon (11) measured by the pressure sensor (5) and to control the actuator (4) depending on the received pressure data, such that the inflation pressure of the balloon (11) is kept stable at a predefined inflation pressure value, and the second control unit (8) is adapted to control the balloon retracting unit (6), such that the balloon (11) is retracted out of the aorta at a constant speed.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for performing cryogenic ablation of tissue and adjusting the size and/or location of a cryogenic cooling region. A cooling assembly may include tubes for dispensing and exhausting a coolant or refrigerant. One or both of the tubes may be moved, e.g., slidably adjusted, in order to adjust the location or size of a cryogenic ablation region. The cooling assembly may be integrated into cryogenic ablation devices including a cryogenic balloon device that includes an inner inflatable balloon and another balloon that is at least partially wrapped around the inner balloon and carries refrigerant for performing cryo-ablation. Electrodes permit electrical mapping of tissue before or after cryo-ablation to verify success of the procedure.
