Abstract: Heating and heat-dissipation synergistic thermal control device and an automobile seat include: heating system, pneumatic massage system, heat dissipation system and control system. The heating system includes a heating cushion layer. The heating cushion layer has several heating areas. Each heating area is disposed with independently controlled islanding heating units. The pneumatic massage system includes airbag layer. The airbag layer has airbag groups disposed corresponding to each heating areas. Each airbag group has the first airbag body. The first airbag body is connected with driving device. When the first airbag body is in inflatable state, second suspension area is formed between peripheral side of the first airbag body and the heating cushion layer and the seat body. The heat dissipation system dissipates heat of the second suspension area; and the control system controls the heating system, pneumatic massage system and heat dissipation system to operate synergistically with the set control strategy.

Abstract: An inventive decubitus prevention device comprises a thermal support member disposed upon a massage member. The massage member comprises at least one manipulation element disposed within a housing component and is configured such that the manipulation element is in contact with the bottom side of the thermal support member. The thermal support member comprises at least one thermal element at least partially encased within a polymeric member. In some embodiments, the inventive decubitus prevention device can further comprise a therapeutic member disposed upon the thermal support member. The therapeutic member comprises a cushioning polymer disposed at least upon the top side of a mitigation member. The inventive decubitus prevention device can provide a therapeutic force to a user, and can additionally provide a heating effect and/or a cooling effect to a user. The inventive decubitus prevention device can be utilized with a bed (such as a mattress combination), a wheelchair, a lounge chair, a couch, an office chair, an examination table, and the like.

Abstract: Our design provides a moderate control of abduction and adduction without requiring tools. This can be accomplished with a first push button 5, shown in FIG. 1, for a hip adjustment of both abduction and adduction between a hip shell 2 and a hip hinge assembly that provides release of locking pins for setting the flexion and extension movement of the user's leg. A second push button 6 provides abduction and adduction between the hip hinge assembly 1 and a thigh supporting unit.
To facilitate an initial vertical adjustment, we provide a flexible plastic spacer 7 with circular openings extending through the spacer between the leg adjuster and the upper thigh support pad. Abstract: Embodiments include cooling articles including a receptacle, an endothermic ingredient contained in a first capsule within the receptacle, an endothermic matrix within the receptacle, and a color indicator. The endothermic ingredient, when mixed with the endothermic matrix, generates an endothermic reaction, and the color indicator is activated upon the generation of the endothermic reaction to indicate that cooling has been initiated. Other embodiments include cooling articles including an electric circuit configured to melt at least a portion of the first capsule to enable the endothermic ingredient and the endothermic matrix to mix. Systems for providing cooling that include a person support apparatus and a cooling article including a thermoelectric device coupled to the person support apparatus to direct heat from a source region to a sink region including the person support apparatus are also described.

Abstract: A portable vibrating roller includes an outer roller structure having a plurality of grooves and ribs. A hollow cylindrical bore extends longitudinally through the shell. A vibration system having a first end cap and a second end cap fits within the bore. A battery positioned within the shell near one end cap provides electrical power to a motor positioned within the shell near the other end cap to cause the motor to rotate an output shaft at a plurality of angular velocities to rotate an eccentric mass located approximately midway between the two end caps. The rotating eccentric mass causes vibration. A motor control circuit receives input power from a battery and selectively provides output power to the motor in response to the operation of a switch on the first end cap. The output power is varied to control the angular velocity of the output shaft of the motor and to thereby control a frequency of vibration caused by the eccentric mass.

Abstract: A sequential compression and temperature therapy blanket with a plurality of air chambers is disclosed. The air chambers are filled and released by a valve assembly that may be separate from or integrated within the blanket. The temperature therapy blanket includes a fluid bladder for delivering hot and/or cold therapy to a patient. The temperature therapy blanket may also include an air bladder for providing compression.
