Abstract: A stretchable device includes strain gauges and electrical wiring. Each strain gauge includes a first strain gauge and a second strain gauge. The first strain gauge and the second strain gauge are coupled to each other. The electrical wiring includes a first potential line, a second potential line, a coupling line coupling the first potential line to the second potential line, a first signal line, and a second signal line. The first signal line detects a third potential at a first coupling point. The second signal line detects a fourth potential at a midpoint of the coupling line. One of the first strain gauge and the second strain gauge is an inner peripheral strain gauge. The other thereof is an outer peripheral strain gauge. The amount of change in resistance of each strain gauge is detected based on a potential difference between the third potential and the fourth potential.

Abstract: A pedal for bicycles comprising a pedal-pin, which extends along a reference axis, and a pedal-body, which is coupled to the pedal-pin in a rotary free manner. Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present invention, a structure for a strain gauge device is provided. The structure comprises a layer of strain gauge material and one or more contact pads positioned directly on the layer of strain gauge material. The structure further comprises a multiplexer, measuring device, amplifier, analog to digital converter, microcontroller, and wireless adapter. According to the structure, the multiplexer selects a given contact pad pair of the one or more contact pad pairs, the measuring device measures signal generated by the layer of strain gauge material between the given contact pad pair, the amplifier amplifies the measured signal, the analog to digital converter converts the amplified analog signal to a digital signal, the microcontroller processes the digital signal, and the wireless adapter transmits the processed digital signal. In addition, the structure may further comprise a battery to provide energy to the structure.

Abstract: A non-contact, current sensor includes a gapped magnetic core configured to circumscribe a current carrying conductor. A magnetostrictive element is mechanically coupled to the gapped magnetic core. Current flowing in the current carrying conductor induces a magnetic field in the magnetic core that flows through the magnetostrictive element. The gapped magnetic core is provided with mounting sections to which the magnetostrictive element is mechanically coupled. The mounting sections have a geometry that increases magnetic flux in the magnetostrictive element. A strain gauge is mechanically coupled to the magnetostrictive element to measure displacement in the element induced by the magnetic flux.
