A support fixture supports a plurality of components on a shipping rack. The support fixture includes a frame, a plurality of fingers and a locking device. Each finger is pivotally coupled to the frame for movement about a pivot between a support position and a released position. Each finger has a front end and a back end extending from substantially opposite sides of a pivot wherein the front end is presented for supporting one of the components in the support position. The fingers are arranged in a stack with a first finger being disposed at an end of the stack. Each of the fingers has a boss that extends outwardly therefrom to hold an adjacent finger in the support position. The locking device has a pin that is axially movable between an extended position disposed along the back end of the first finger to hold the first finger in the support position and a retracted position spaced apart spaced apart from the first finger to allow pivotal movement of the first finger between the support and released positions. The locking device also has a button operatively coupled to the pin to cause alternating actuation of the pin between the extended and retracted positions with each push of the button toward the pin.

A shift adjusting device includes a cam plate and an arm. The cam plate is pivotable and operatively connected to a change speed interlocking mechanism extending between a shift pedal and a belt type stepless change speed device. The arm is also pivotable and operatively connected to a changeover interlocking mechanism extending between a switch lever and a backward/forward drive changeover device. The arm has a pin for engaging a control slot formed in the cam plate. The control slot includes an arcuate forward drive slot portion and an arcuate backward drive slot portion. When the switch lever is in a forward drive position, the pin lies in the forward drive slot portion. The forward drive slot portion allows a full stroke depression of the shift pedal, whereby a forward speed may be selected between minimum speed and maximum speed. When the switch lever is in a backward drive position, the pin lies in the backward drive slot portion. The backward drive slot portion allows only a half stroke depression of the shift pedal, whereby a backward speed may be selected between minimum speed and half the maximum speed.

A control lever of a column-mounted control device for an automatic transmission is installed on a steering column in such a way as to be rotatable in the circumferential direction of the steering column for selection of gears. A location mechanism is operative to releasably limit rotation of the control lever in the circumferential direction of the steering column and locates the control lever in one of gear positions including a stoppage gear. The control lever is released from the above described limitation in rotation in the circumferential direction of the steering column when pulled toward a driver's seat. A location sensor is operative to detect that the above described limitation in rotation of the control lever is performed in the stoppage gear by the location mechanism and produce a stoppage signal representative thereof. A brake sensor is operative to detect a braking operation and produce a braking signal representative thereof. A shift lock mechanism prevents the pulling of the control lever toward the driver's seat and disables the control lever from being released from the above described limitation in rotation by the location means when receiving the stoppage signal only. When the shift lock mechanism receives both of the stoppage signal and the braking signal, it allows the pulling of the control lever toward the driver's seat and enables the control lever from being released from the above described limitation in rotation by the location mechanism.

A combination creeper gear and control system for a transmission is disclosed having a range selector gear followed by a change speed gear. The combination includes an engine-driven drive shaft connected through a creeper gear mechanism to an input shaft which extends into the transmission. The creeper mechanism includes a drive gear mounted on the drive shaft, a driven gear mounted on the input shaft and a lay shaft aligned parallel to both the drive shaft and the input shaft. The lay shaft supports a compound gear which includes a first and a second gear, wherein the first gear meshes with the drive gear and the second gear meshes with the driven gear. The combination further includes a synchronizer located between the drive gear and driven gear which is selectively engageable between a direct mode and a creep mode. In the direct mode, the drive shaft is directly connected to the input shaft, while in the creep mode, the drive shaft is connected to the input shaft by way of the compound gear. The creeper mechanism is activated by a selector control which consists of a first and a second shift rod and a locking pin movably positioned between the two shift rods. The first shift rod is associated with the creeper gear mechanism while the second shift rod is associated with the range selector gear. The locking pin controls the movement of the first and second shift rods such that the creep mode cannot be selected when the range selector gear is in a high speed range, but which can be selected in either a forward or reverse low-speed range.

A vaporizer interlock system is disclosed which is used in an anesthesia machine having two calibrated vaporizers for providing an anesthetic to a patient and further having a selector valve with three positions, two extreme positions where one of the two vaporizers is being utilized and a middle position where neither vaporizer is used. The system prevents opening of either vaporizer when the selector valve is in the middle position. Also, when the selector valve is moved to one of its extreme positions selecting one of the vaporizers, the other vaporizer is prevented from being moved from its "off" position. The "on" vaporizer must thereafter be placed in its "off" position before the selector valve can be returned to its middle position. In addition, a quick disconnect means is shown for quickly attaching and detaching the vaporizers from the anesthesia machine.

An interlock device for a pair of vaporizers of an anesthesia machine. Each vaporizer includes a rotary dial for establishing the vapor concentration provided. The interlock device insures that one vaporizer is closed whenever the other is open and comprises a pair of reciprocable pins and a cooperating pivotable lever. Each pin is arranged to be extended into a cam recess in the vaporizer dial by the pivoting action of the lever. Rotation of one dial automatically causes the pin located therein to move out of the cam recess and into contact with the lever. This action pivots the lever and causes it to contact the other pin to extend the other pin into the recess in the associated vaporizer dial, thereby locking the dial closed.
