The asphalt paving material may be virgin asphalt, or it may comprise reclaimed asphalt pavement and/or recycled asphalt shingles.

    摘要: A texturing machine is provided for the subsequent treatment of a freshly produced concrete layer having a width between left and right edges and extending longitudinally in a working direction. Left and right height sensors are arranged to detect a height above the freshly produced concrete adjacent the left and right edges of the layer. At least one crown height sensor is arranged to detect a height above a crown of the freshly produced concrete layer. A controller is configured to receive input signals from the height sensors and to communicate height control sensors to the height adjustable columns and to communicate a crown control system to the crown actuator. A direction sensor may also detect at least one of the edges of the freshly produced concrete layer. The controller may receive a direction input signal from the direction sensor, and the controller may communicate a direction control signal to a steering actuator of one of the ground engaging units of the machine.

    摘要: A direct current powered electrical heating unit capable of distributing heat across the heating unit in a substantially uniform fashion. The heating unit includes a first pliable outer layer and a second pliable outer layer. The heating unit further includes a pliable electrical heating element disposed between the first and the second cover layers and configured to convert electrical energy to heat energy and to distribute the heat energy. The pliable electrical heating element includes a heat generating element for converting electrical current to heat energy and a heat spreading element comprising graphite thermally coupled to the heat generating element. The heating unit further includes a thermal insulation layer positioned above the pliable electrical heating element and between the first and the second cover layers. A receiving power connector is electrically connected to the heat generating element. The receiving power connector configured to connect to a direct current power source.

    摘要: A pavement repair system is provided utilizing solid phase auto regenerative cohesion and homogenization by liquid asphalt oligopolymerization technologies. The system is suitable for use in repairing asphalt pavement, including pavement exhibiting a high degree of deterioration (as manifested in the presence of potholes, cracks, ruts, or the like) as well as pavement that has been subject to previous repair and may comprise a substantial amount of dirt and other debris (e.g., chipped road paint or other damaged or disturbed surfacing materials). A system utilizing homogenization by liquid asphalt oligopolymerization is suitable for rejuvenating or repairing aged asphalt, thereby improving properties of the paving material.

The electron accelerators are positioned on the mobile unit to irradiate and treat in-situ, a material located proximate to the mobile unit, wherein irradiation of the material by the electron accelerators results in in-situ cross-linking or polymerization of the material and therefore a strengthening and increased durability of the material. The in-situ treatment of a road surface to toughen and strengthen the road surface constructed with standard asphalt construction can result in improved material properties of the surface, enhanced durability, and improved lifetime.
