    摘要: Injection of atomized coal slurry fuel into an engine combustion chamber is achieved at relatively low pressures by means of a vortex swirl nozzle. The outlet opening of the vortex nozzle is considerably larger than conventional nozzle outlets, thereby eliminating major sources of failure due to clogging by contaminants in the fuel. Control fluid, such as air, may be used to impart vorticity to the slurry and/or purge the nozzle of contaminants during the times between measured slurry charges. The measured slurry charges may be produced by a diaphragm pump or by vortex valves controlled by a separate control fluid. Fluidic circuitry, employing vortex valves to alternatively block and pass cool slurry fuel flow, is disclosed.

    摘要: A fuel vapor charge producing device comprising a pure liquid fuel or mixture container which can be of any desired shape and material with a cover and a float secured inside said device to control the inflow of pure liquid fuel or mixture into the container, a fuel or mixture inlet-valve made on said container for the entry of fuel or mixture, an air inlet adapted to allow the entry of air into said container above the liquid or mixture level and another air inlet below the fuel or mixture level such that the incoming air comes in contact with the liquid fuel or mixture to aid and agitate in emulsifying and vaporizing said fuel or mixture evenly within the range of the operating temperature, and a vapor outlet connected to the intake manifold and/or to the air inlet of the carburetor of a conventional internal combustion engine, such that when the engine runs, the device is subjected to a vacuum pressure to force atmospheric air to be sucked into said device through the air inlets and to provide the proper or ideal air/fuel or mixture ratio.

    摘要: An apparatus for injecting pulverulent fuel into the combustion chamber of internal combustion engines includes a pre-chamber for the fuel powder which is to be supplied to the combustion chamber during an engine cycle. This pre-chamber is adapted, during an engine cycle, to be successively connected to a vacuum source, a fuel supply and the combustion chamber. To this end, the apparatus includes a movable member having the pre-chamber formed therein and being adapted, by co-operation with sealing elements applied under pressure against the movable member, sealingly to engage fixed connections leading to the vacuum source, the fuel supply and the combustion chamber. During the operating cycle of the movable member the pre-chamber successively passes the aforementioned connections so as to be placed in communication with the vacuum source, the fuel supply and the combustion chamber.

    摘要: Methods of combustion include metering a substantially explosible powder into an oxidizing gas using a positive displacement powder dispersion device to suspend the powder in the gas and directing the powder in the gas to form a controlled stream of a moving explosible powder dispersion. In some embodiments, the method further includes igniting the dispersion with an ignition source to produce a stationary deflagrating combustion wave and sustaining combustion by continuing to meter the powder into the gas. In other embodiments, the method further includes adjusting a nozzle velocity of the dispersion to reflect properties of the dispersion to create a sustainable flame and igniting the dispersion to produce a stationary deflagrating wave of the dispersion. In other embodiments, the method further includes igniting the dispersion in a combustion area to produce a stationary deflagrating wave such that a conductive heat transfer from combustion brings the powder to combustion temperature.

    摘要: The present invention is a system to utilize slow burning fuels that contain ash with a piston that is utilized as a compressor and an expander, a pair of combustion chambers, an ash bin with a pathway on each side of the ash bin and a cylinder that houses the piston that is integral to the y-shaped pathway and produces gases that are produced by the piston emitted from the cylinder as well as a connecting rod and a crank shaft. The combustion chambers can be cone-shaped and have one or more fan blades that are made of a nonconductive material and have a positive charge. The present invention also creates a rotating body in a single combustion chamber that provides heat energy for evaporation of water and initiation of ignition of fuels that contain more than 5% water that can be connected to an ash bin to expel ash.
