摘要: A method for removing noxious, hazardous, toxic, mutagenic, and/or carcinogenic compounds and/or precursor compounds from a comingled gas, liquid, and/or solid stream is described. In one embodiment, the method is used to prepare the stream for feeding to an oxidizer, such as a thermal oxidizer, to reduce the amount of particulate matter discharged by the oxidizer and includes passing the stream through an ambient or chilled temperature condenser followed by an optional gas/solid separator, and one or more gas scrubbers prior to feeding to the oxidizer.

摘要: In a method and device for separating components in a corona discharge zone an air stream containing water molecules is passed between at least one ionizing electrode and at least one non-ionizing electrode; and high voltage is applied to the electrodes to create a corona discharge zone consisting of a plasma region wherein ozone is formed and a dark region where predominantly hydrogen peroxide is formed. The air flow entering the corona discharge zone is divided into two separate air flows, a first of which passes through the corona discharge plasma region, and a second of which passes through the dark corona discharge region; and a negative pressure gradient is applied to the plasma region only so as to remove the ozone and thereby separate the ozone from the hydrogen peroxide.

摘要: The invention concerns a method to roast coffee beans in a roasting system, said system comprising: —a roasting apparatus (1), and —a smoke treating unit (2) configured to treat the smoke produced by the roasting apparatus, said smoke treating unit comprising at least an electrostatic precipitator (222), said electrostatic precipitator comprising at least one cell, said cell comprising ionization wires, collecting electrodes and repelling electrodes and said ionization wires being supplied with an electrical power in order to apply a high voltage V to the ionization wires, wherein, during each roasting operation implemented in the roasting apparatus, the method comprises the steps of: —monitoring the voltage V at the ionization wires and/or the electrodes along the time of the roasting operation, —if the monitored voltage becomes inferior to a pre-determined voltage threshold V0 during a period of time of the roasting operation, and —if said period of time, where the monitored voltage V is inferior to said lower voltage threshold V0 is superior to a pre-determined time threshold Δt, then displaying a cleaning alarm.

摘要: A reduced odor smoking system and method is provided. The system designed to process smoke exhaled during the smoking of a smokeable material (such as a cigarette or waterpipe) to remove the smoke odor. The system includes a holder that holds smokeable material for ignition, and a system that processes the exhaled smoke to reduce the odor. During use, the user inhales smoke from the system and subsequently exhales the smoke back into the system to be processed. A valve assembly directs the smoke from the holder to the user's mouth during inhalation and from the user's mouth to the smoke processing system during exhalation. In this way, a user may enjoy smoking while minimizing the smoke odor (e.g., indoors).

The disclosed system 200 comprises a device 215 configured for radiating radio waves, preferably in the frequency range of 800 MHz to 5 GHz in a predefined pulsed manner. Essentially, the disclosed device comprises a radiofrequency oscillator 315 configured for oscillating at the predefined frequency. The signal is then suitably power amplified with an RF amplifier 310 and using a suitable switch 235 the amplified output is routed to one of an omnidirectional antenna 240 and directional antenna 245 for radiating the pulsed radio waves to the atmosphere.

The power source includes an oscillator and a high voltage transformer. The power source generates a periodic voltage with a fundamental frequency and multiple harmonic frequencies. The power source is connected between the two conductive layers and the periodic voltage generates a periodic electric field between the two conductive layers. The fundamental frequency, the duty cycle, and the amplitude of the periodic voltage are configured to inactivate the microorganism that pass through the electric field.
