Abstract:
The present invention relates to a protective face mask and filtration article, a method for using a protective face mask and filtration article, and a design for manufacturing. In particular, the invention relates to a self-contained, mobile, battery-powered bioactive and filtering breathing appliance that provides broad spectrum antimicrobial and allergic protection via an atomized biocidal agent steam/vapor and a torturous hydrophilic filtration article that sterilizes incoming air and captures debris. To this end, antimicrobial activity and filtration functions leverage a redundancy of means/methods comprised of antimicrobial hydrogen peroxide liquid/vapor/steam and an iodized salt containing hydrophilic filtration article. The present invention is a wearable apparatus that sterilizes incoming air by capturing, neutralizing and destroying airborne pathogens and other particulate matter and pumps sterilized oxygen/air for natural, unlabored breathing by the wearer. The present invention further relates to a production method thereof.

Abstract:
A multiphoton microscope is provided. The microscope includes: an excitation source for providing an optical excitation beam at an excitation wavelength λ; a scanner for scanning the excitation beam on a sample; an objective for irradiating the sample with the excitation beam scanned by the scanner and for collecting an emission beam from the sample; a first detector for detecting a plurality of multiphoton signals; and an emission light path allowing transmission from the objective to the first detector a wavelength band limited to greater than or equal to λ/2 and less than λ, wherein the plurality of multiphoton signals have wavelengths within the wavelength band; wherein the plurality of multiphoton signals com-prises a first multiphoton signal and a second multiphoton signal of different types. Fast image capture rate multiphoton microscopes for in vivo imaging, as well as photothermolysis methods using the microscopes are also provided.

A method for reducing signaling overhead in user equipment (UE) connected to a base station is provided. The method includes: when the UE sends Radio Resource Control (RRC) layer messages to the base station, the UE compresses RRC layer messages and sends the compressed RRC layer messages to the base station; and when the UE receives the compressed RRC layer messages from the base station, the UE decompresses the compressed RRC layer messages received from the base station.

Automatic provisioning of an access point base station or femtocell. The method may include the femtocell transmitting first information (e.g., location information, signal measurement information, capability information, etc.) to a service provider (e.g., over an IP network). The femtocell may receive second information from the service provider, where the second information includes one or more operational parameters. The operational parameters may include hand-off parameters, admission policy parameters, PN or scrambling codes, power parameters, and/or other parameters. The femtocell may operate according to the received parameters to provide access for a plurality of access terminals in a local area.
Abstract:
An exercise device for use when a person is in a pool or other water body. A central boom extends from attachment to a sidewalk around the pool, and extends to a wishbone member that forms a furcated member mounted to the central boom. The wishbone has lateral members that are parallel and spaced with hand-grippable handles at the ends farthest from the central boom, and disposed over the water. A user can grasp the handles and perform numerous exercise movements while buoyed, at least partially, by the water. A lower support member is mounted to the central boom beneath the wishbone, and a handle is mounted to the central boom between the wishbone and the lower support member. The user can rest his shoulders on the lower support member and hold the handle mounted to the boom, and perform abdominal exercises. Many other movements are possible.

A mobile communication device for managing the operation status of wireless transmissions and receptions is provided. In the mobile communication device, a wireless module performs the wireless transmissions and receptions. Also, in the mobile communication device, a controller module activates the wireless module to transmit a scheduling request message to the service network, and keeps the wireless module activated for the wireless receptions in a first predetermined period of time subsequent to the transmission of the scheduling request message.

Abstract:
A mobile communications device with a wireless module and a controller module for performing a buffer status reporting procedure is provided. The wireless module performs wireless transmissions and receptions to and from a cellular station of a service network. The controller module receives machine type communication (MTC) data, determines whether to trigger a buffer status report (BSR) according to a comparison result of the data size of the MTC data and a threshold value when the MTC data arrives at an empty transmission buffer, and if so, transmits the BSR to the cellular station via the wireless module.
Abstract:
Communication transmission methods and systems are provided. Firstly, a base station is configured to set an indicator for determining whether a first wireless communication technology and a second communication technology are allowed simultaneously for transmissions by the base station. Then, a user equipment, is configured to receive a voice call by a user equipment from the base station and determine whether to answer the voice call using the first wireless communication technology or the second communication technology, when the first wireless communication technology and the second communication technology are not allowed simultaneously shown by the indicator.
