Abstract:
Nutritional iron compositions comprising bioavailable sources of iron selected from ferrous fumarate and ferrous succinate where the iron source is preferably spread on the surface of a lecithin coated edible carrier such as sucrose. These nutritional iron compositions are particularly useful in food and beverage products such as chocolate flavored edible mixes, especially chocolate flavored beverages, that are additionally fortified with other minerals and vitamins, especially multi-mineral and vitamin combinations involving, iodine, vitamin A, vitamin C, riboflavin, and folic acid to avoid developing an undesirable color, off-flavor, astringency, particularly when the edible and/or beverage mix is reconstituted with water or milk.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an odor absorbing composition, which is safe for use on human skin comprising from about 0.1% to about 5%, by weight of the composition, of solubilized, water-soluble, uncomplexed cyclodextrin; from about 0.1% to about 36%, by weight of the composition, of an oil phase selected from the group consisting of emollients, moisturizers, and skin protectants; an emulsifier; and an aqueous carrier. The odor absorbing compositions of the present invention may also contain an effective amount of hydrophobic antimicrobials. The present invention also relates to methods of using the compositions of the present invention to reduce body odor and/or vaginal odor. The composition can be applied directly as a spray, poured from a bottle and applied by hand, or applied via a wipe.
Abstract:
Basic cleaning compositions using toxicologically-acceptable ingredients for cleaning fruits and vegetables are provided. Liquid formulations comprising detergent surfactant, such as oleate, alcohol ethoxylates, etc., and neutralized phosphoric acid are sprayed onto apples, lettuce and the like to remove soil and unwanted deposits, especially wax. Articles for applying the compositions to produce by spraying are disclosed. Use of the compositions for disinfectancy/sanitization of produce and cleaning/disinfectancy/sanitization of non-food inantimate surfaces are disclosed.
Abstract:
Biodegradable fabric softener compounds that contain ester linkages a substantial level of polyunsaturation in the hydrophobic chains. The compounds can be used to form fabric softening compositions that are aqueous dispersions of the compounds or clear compositions. These compositions have a desirable low viscosity and recover, after freezing and thawing to have a stable low viscosity.
Abstract:
The present invention encompasses a method of controlling malodors on human skin comprising the application to the human skin of a composition comprising from about 0.1% to about 5%, by weight of the composition, of solubilized, water-soluble, uncomplexed cyclodextrin; from about 0.1% to about 36%, by weight of the composition, of an oil phase selected from the group consisting of emollients, moisturizers, and skin protectants; an emulsifier; and an aqueous carrier. The compositions may also optionally comprise one or more of the following: hydrophobic antimicrobials; water-soluble antimicrobial preservatives; low molecular weight polyols; zinc salts; water-soluble polymers; soluble carbonate and/or bicarbonate salts; chelating agents; zeolites; activated carbon; and mixtures thereof. The compositions can be applied directly as a spray, poured from a bottle and applied by hand, or applied via a wipe.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to methods of reducing body and/or vaginal odor comprising the application of a perfumed powder composition comprising from about 0.1% to about 25%, by weight of the composition, of uncomplexed cyclodextrin; a perfume composition selected from the group consisting of from about 0.05% to about 15%, by weight of the odor absorbing composition, of an encapsulated perfume, and from about 0.01% to about 5% by weight of the odor absorbing composition of a free perfume, and mixtures thereof; and a powder carrier.
Abstract:
Personal treatment compositions including cleansing and/or cosmetic compositions are disclosed, the cleansing compositions, for example, comprising from about 0.001% to about 10%, preferably from about 0.005% to about 6%, enduring perfume comprising at least about 70% of enduring perfume ingredients; from about 0.01% to about 95% surfactant system; and the balance carrier. The enduring perfume provides a lasting olfactory sensation thus minimizing the need to use large amounts. Preferred compositions are liquid and comprise water as a carrier.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions and processes which incorporate water-soluble polymers, other than enzymes, containing .dbd.N--C(.dbd.O)-- (including PVP) and/or N-oxide groups into the wash, rinse, and/or drying cycle of a laundering process (e.g., via fabric softening compositions) for dye transfer inhibition in the subsequent wash cycle. Multiple wash cycles optimize the dye transfer inhibitor performance of these polymers, remove unwanted dye discoloration caused by dye transfer, and provide soil antiredeposition benefits.

Abstract:
Fabric softening actives having hydrophobic moieties containing, preferably, ester, or amide, linkages and mixed branched and unsaturated hydrophobic groups provide improved processing and stability as well as surprisingly good softening. Preferred compositions contain mono-ol and diol principal solvents having a ClogP of from about 0.15 to about 0.64, that have the ability to make clear aqueous fabric softener compositions containing relatively high concentrations of the said fabric softener actives having ester linkages in their long, hydrophobic chains. Other solvents may be present. Premixes of the fabric softening actives, the principal solvents, and, optionally, other solvents are useful in the preparation of complete formulations by obviating/limiting the need for heating. Other compositions can be prepared which are solid or dispersions of the said fabric softening actives.
