摘要： A wireless base station which controls joining of a plurality of wireless terminals to a wireless network, stores a maximum joining possible terminal number which indicates a maximum number of the wireless terminals of each terminal type that can join the wireless network simultaneously, and which is set in advance for each one of a plurality of terminal types that classify the wireless terminals, and a currently joining terminal number which indicates a number of the wireless terminals of each terminal type that are currently joining the wireless network, for each one of the plurality of the terminal types. Then, the wireless base station judges whether the joining of one wireless terminal of one terminal type which sent a request message to the wireless network is permitted or not, according to the maximum joining possible terminal number for the one terminal type and the currently joining terminal number stored for the one terminal type.

摘要： A non-contact identification semiconductor device is provided with a semiconductor chip including a receiving circuit that receives an inquiry to the non-contact identification semiconductor device, a memory that stores identification information of multiple bits and a sending circuit that sends the identification information. An antenna coupled to said semiconductor chip receives the identification information from said semiconductor chip and transmits the identification information outside of said non-contact semiconductor. The long side length of the semiconductor chip is not greater than 0.5 mm in plane dimension, and the identification information is stored by a pattern printed by an electron beam.

摘要： Under a multi-task environment, a tamper resistant microprocessor saves a context information for one program whose execution is to be interrupted, where the context information contains information indicating an execution state of that one program and the execution code encryption key of that one program. An execution of that one program can be restarted by recovering the execution state of that one program from the saved context information. The context information can be encrypted by using the public key of the microprocessor, and then decrypted by using the secret key of the microprocessor.

摘要： A scheme for realizing a contents protection procedure between devices that are not connected to the same network, in a system where the IEEE 1394 buses are connected together through a 1394 bridge or a system where the IEEE 1394 buses are connected together through another radio network, is disclosed. A network connection device notifies information regarding a transmission node on the first IEEE 1394 bus to a reception node on the second IEEE 1394 bus, so that the reception node can carry out the authentication and key exchange procedure directly with the transmission node on a different network.

A packet to be transmitted is divided into segments to form a plurality of packet segments. From among a plurality of error correction schemes that have been prepared in advance, the scheme to be employed is selected for each of the packet segments in accordance with predetermined criteria, and the selected error correction scheme is applied to each packet segment. Subsequently, the processed packet segment is transmitted to the network. Packet segments are received from the network. From among a plurality of error correction schemes prepared in advance, the scheme to be employed is selected for each of the received packet segments based on predetermined information contained in each received packet segment, and the selected error correction scheme is applied to the received packet segment. An original packet is formed from the plurality of processed packet segments.
